He is at Memphis AW.

Also heard he picked up the man of the match award yesterday Bumblebee so perhaps you need to re-direct that tiny little stinger of yours.

My spies at the Coastal game have reported that Bays absolutely battered the Spirit and were extremely unlucky to lose the game and the shield...but my spies wear navy blue eyepatches so would appreciate some neutral observations on the match

I'm well known in these parts for my neutrality.

Juan Chang was terrible, got pulled before the end. Sho is a great player and needed more time on the ball. I wouldnt say we got battered, there were periods of the game where it was full on. Pearler of a free kick to win the game from Claudio, we were right behind it and it was inch perfect.

We win the shield off Bays again!

If you want a more even unbiased opinion look out for Ekow's match report during the week. :-)

Yes plenty of chances went begging by both sides, Bays could / should have lead in the opening minutes and just when it looked like games was only to end in a scoreless draw a great free kick decided the three points.

I can confirm that this is a complete fabrication and couldn't be further from the truth. Coastal as always were magnificent and were unlucky not to score at least 10 more goals after having spent 90 minutes playing consumate football all across the park. And I know this to be true even though I wasn't their simply by reading Vims understated report.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Obviously not very well as he was in the 3rd XI.

In saying that, sometimes those teams aren't really correct. I started off my football career in the 8th Grade E team at Burwood. My Dad said it wasn't because I was rubbish it was just because he registered me late. He was right because now I'm in the second division of Sunday League.

Played at least one game as he scored, understand that maybe out with and injury at the moment.

Full time in Blackwells Holden English Cup - Selwyn 3 Parklands 0

I went to the game. #upthepark Pretty rough. Ref called an absolute 'mare of a backpass for Selwyn to go 1-0 up with a 6 yard indirect free kick smashed in. Few shockers from the Parklands fullbacks and keeper meant it was 3-0 in the end. And that was before Benchwarmer came on!  Parklands hit the bar twice in the second half so coulda got back in it, but Selwyn deserved to win.

Selwyn have a good posse of fans, will be an interesting Chatham Cup match against Coastal on QB Monday that's for sure.

Coastal's English Cup game (supposed to be the day after QB Monday) has been postponed to June 19th I've heard.

Silly mistakes is one of the main things we need to cut out as we have a habit of undoing all our good work with a couple of slips.

Once again Selwyn made us pay, and we know that giving Dan Ede opportunities like we did is going to end with the ball in the back of the net.

Good luck to Selwyn in their survival fight, have seen the growth over the last 5 or 6 years so will be good to see you remain in the MPL

Does anyone have any info on the South Island League? When it starts, how they are doing the draw?

They're going to have to rig it aren't they? I'm fine with that by the way. If it's random there is a chance your away games could be against only Chch teams so I guess they are going to be as fair as possible.

Be great to have some idea of what is going on.

Real shame that the year we finally have an exciting South Island League is the same year The Press have no local coverage.

Was told by Colin Grant before he finished that their was going to be a week break between the MPL and FSPL finishing, both on the 9th June and the SIL commencing, assume that was to allow for travel arangements and fix the SIL games around the Chatham Cup weekends as well.

At the moment the top three down south are Dunedin Tech 13 points, Quenstown Rovers 13 and Roslyn Wakari 11, then Southland 10, Caversham 8, Green Is. 7, Mosgiel 4, Otago Univ 3 and Northern 1 with Roslyn, Mosgiel and Northern yet to have their bye.

This Saturday - Queenstown vs. Tech, Roslyn vs. Southland Cavy vs Green Is. and Mosgiel vs. Univ.

You can thank Fairfax media (stuff?) for that. Them ditching the local newspapers was the last straw for me, I'm not giving them any more of my money.

And to think a few months back they had the gall to publish an article/opinion piece by Martin Van beyan (sp?) who wrote about how local journalism is struggling and needs support. Hello Martin, maybe its time to have a word with your boss?

The ODT is an good paper imo. Lots of local news and sport.

Probably because its one of the few papers in NZ not owned by Fairfax (aka washington post)

There will be 3 weeks between the completion of the FDL/MPL and the commencement of the SIL. So the weekends of 16/17 and 23/24 June (for SIL sides knocked out of the Chatham Cup) are free. Perhaps Mainland could reschedule suitable English Cup matches for the 16th June?

FootballSouth Dunedin Tech, Queenstown and Southland in the best position to be the three.

Nelson to Queenstown and/or Invercargill?

Transfer page may make good reading in the weeks to the start of the SI League on the 30th June.

DT picking up their ex players with Nat league background.

Will Selwyn or Uni look to pick up a couple of players to get over the line and stay in the MPL?

The SPL has been hotly contested all season, a real shame two rounds weren't able to be completed because it is so very close and some quality sides will miss out.

Roslyn-Wakari, with all their Southern players, dropped vital points against Southland on the weekend, with a 96th minute penalty giving Southland the win. Can't see the title going anywhere else than Dunedin Tech or Queenstown - both quality sides who play a direct but skilful brand of football, and don't let many in. Caversham must beat Queenstown and hope Mosgiel beats Southland this weekend to stay in contention.

Those down south cannot wait for the SIL to begin, the region is going to be better for it!
