Cashmere Technical only need a point to wrap up the title against Coastal Technical but will be looking for a good win as they build up to their ASB Chatham Cup semi-final against Wellington Olympic next Saturday. Coastal have yet to win against their rivals with the game also doubling as a Hurley Challenge Shield game. Technical are unbeaten in their last eight PFL games and are six goals away from setting a new goal scoring record for a 21 game season.Head to head: Played 5: Cashmere Technical 3 Wins, Draws 2, Coastal Spirit 0

Pretty sure these two sides have played more than 5 games over the past 3 seasons (including this one) and pretty sure I remember Coastal defeating Cashmere at Linfield Park in the last game of the season last year or is the head to head limited to certain games i.e. at the home teams venue?

But purely as a club Cashmere Technical have only existed since 2012.

Correct. And i distinctly remember Coastal's last game of the year last season. Last time we (FC) won a MPL game, a famous 1-0 victory at Linfield Park to prolong our MPL agony for another season!

Have looked back on my  records which have backed up by the Ultimate Soccer Website and last season's result between Coastal and Cashmere Technical were as follows: Round 2 home game for Coastal was a 2 - 1 win for Tech then in round 9 was a 2 - 2 at Garrick and then in round 16 Tech won at Linfield 1 - nil - Andy Barton was the scorer. They did not meet in the Chatham Cup.

Gunner is spot on Coastal's last league game in 2012 was at home to FC which FC won 1 - nil with Stu Bola scoring a late winner.

Ronaldoknow your memory is partly correct you were talking about the last game in 2011 when Coastal defeated Woolston Technical 2 - nil, with an own goal on the stroke of half time and a Paul Hughes penalty in the 58 minutes.

Was the first and only time was a 12 team league and finished 11th and were relegated along with Woolston WMC 0 points. Interestingly  ChCh United finished 9th on 25 points. With Cashmere Wanderers winning the play-offs against ChCh Technical, who finished ninth in the MPL on 18 points, to gain promotion.

My first year playing seniors football properly in Varsities team. Played for the first team once or twice, remember saving a header off Ben Sigmund.
There was A LOT of fitness work that year, angry angry little coach

Remember him well, real ranter, think he went to Burwood? after you lot had destroyed his coaching career :)

I hear garrick park is bringing seating in for 500 for Chatham Cup semi.

Wonder how many they'll fill with a $5 per head charge on the gate? Girls game at ASB is free.

Probably, can't imagine installing seating for 500 is easy or cheap.

Interesting reading the rules around the Chatham Cup in that all teams pay $250 to enter and then the further you go the more you pay. Last 16 and the 8 home sides pay other $250, quarters the home side another $350 and the two home sides staging the semi's cough up another $550 (GST to be added to all payment). One would assume the addition payments are used by NZ Football to assist for the "travel grants" for the away sides.

If your agree that the extra payments are fair then why does the some structure not apply to the Women's KO Cup?

Good point AW, think you would have to ask NZ Football that one.

Cashmere Tech's opponants in nexts weeks Chatham Cup Wellington Olympic draw 3 - 3 with Miramar today in the top of the table clash in the Central Premier League. Miramar on top with 39 and Olympic on 36 but have a game in hand against Petone which they will need to win by four clear goals to be champions.

Too little too late. Stats will show FC have the worst record of the relegated side in recent seasons. Least points, most goals conceded and at the moment least goals scored.

With Cashmere Technical winn, ing the title yesterday the likes of Dan Terris and Andy Pitman must have a few winners medals now, Russell Kamo must be up there as well, maybe four titles each.

GREAT WIN Y'DAY, NOW FOR CHATHAM CUP (and English cup)

Have all league and game results and 99.9% of goals scorers, in the process of doubling checking the last 0.1% of goals.

Have stats for numbers of pens and own goals scored and number of clean sheets in the league and head to head clashes.

Have stats for best sequences - wins, losts, scoring, not scoring, clean sheets, scored, failed to score etc.

Also run states on the total number of MPL games played, home wins, draws,  scoreless draws etc plus the precentages of wins, losses etc for each club..

Sadly do not have playing records for players.

All stats are from 2002 then the Mainland Premier League commenced.

The win was significant in that it denied Bays a three peat, as for great I thought it was a bit average, probably more due to the conditions than anything else. First half was ok but 2nd half game deteriorated with the wind starting to have an impact. Average defending by Coastal, particularly in the first half made it easier for Cashmere than it should have been with the first goal almost an oggie. Will have to play better than that to have half a chance against Olympic. And Bays will fancy their chances in the English Cup now that Cashmere are putting out there reserve team in the semi.

Ahh Bugger thats a bit rough (wonder what will happen there then) - Though to be fair we had all 4 fields going and afterwards they were pretty cut up.  Yeah nice to get another win (at the end of the season but its a start) Goals galore going on though.

Div 1 - 6-5 win, Div 3 - 8 - 4 Win , Div 5 3-3 Masters 4-2 win.  Mental day - second half field carnage and wind playing a factor in most of it.

GOSS

Chch Utd MPL/PDL default the other week was not a piss trip. Some sort of protest. I was always told if you were going to protest you had to have placards, be chained to something or at least sit down cross-legged and chant "OM".

DIV 1 champions - we are not there yet, by a long way.

Juniors - the selection of players for NTC in 2 x 1 year age brackets for 2000 and 2001 born boys (previously done in 2 yr brackets to coincide with U17 World Cups) is a money-spinning exercise more so than wider talent identification.

I thought there was something off about that "Piss Trip"  So is this saga of who goes up going to drag on forever then?  Next year I really hope Mainland get their shit sorted out with regulations.
