Ouch. I wasn't even there!  The only drama I heard was the referee giving a throw to Coastal and everyone set up for that. Then he changed his mind and gave it the other way and the player picked up a spare match ball, took it quickly and they scored off it.

Shouldn't be any player eligibility issues considering you don't have to be registered with anyone, the joy of a pre-season tournament. That and not having Waimak involved.

Haha and no fine for the ref? Brilliant.

More ref problems already. Ah have missed it. Good job we didn't have Howard Webb reffing.

Meeting between Mainland and clubs next week.

Was @ Waimak for their preseason Tourny today.  Selwyn went down 2-0 to Parklands.  Selwyn was the best team on the paddock for the first half but didn't capitalise on possession and missed chances in front of goal.  Parklands scored in each half and finished the stronger of the 2 teams.  Not sure on the other results.

Talk of Western and Halswell combining what's left of their 2013 WPL teams.

Speaking with one of the Coastal players she said that it seems like the Western team will fold and that Uni will be a heap stronger especially with Aimee Phillips in the team.

With no Canty Utd we should see some interesting transfers on the page over the next few weeks, plus appearances in the pre-season tournament. Normally we have to wait for the semi finals but I guess not this year!

So is there any certainty that Parklands will actually take up the suggested WPL spot? If Western folds and Halswell looking shaky as well, then if Parklands dont move to WPL we will be 2 down from last season, right? Thats too few  - irrespective of quality, surely.

I think it's a done deal that Parklands are in.  But yes with no Western, and perhaps no Halswell, then yes we are in a worse situation than where we were last year. Despite being National Champs!

There's definitely a lot of in house issues with the Halswell women so I've heard..... A few players getting pee'd off and wanting out..... Some even prepared to drop to women's div 2 just to play!

tonight Cash Tech v Halswell, 6:30 Linfield

Tech beat Halswell 3-2 tonight with a late winner. Tech had Danny Boys playing, and Keith the coach was watching on. I think they also had Chris Bacon playing up front. Makes the table a little interesting.

Bays have got their Canty transfers in quick with Highfield, White and Murphy all returning.  Nothing else interesting as far as I can tell.

Hold the phone, now I think about it, where is Kamo's transfer back?  Conspicuously absent!

More tranfers are up on the Mainland site, including Kamo's one back to Bays.

Interesting one the International transfer that was completed by a Spanish sounding name to Western, a new transfer has been declined to send him from Western to Bays. What the?

You mean Western's player that played for Canty Utd? Nice dig, but no. We'll wait to see what happens to him.  This is what I was referring to:

Fc have about 10 players going to other clubs unfortunately

3 to Halswell, 4 to Bays , 1 to Tech and 2 undecided.

Kamo enticed out of retirement for $600 per game, no training.

Top Irish player at Suburbs?

Surely, surely not.  How straight from the horses mouth is this $600 per game...

If true I think it's great that Bays juniors are selling sausages and raffles while their seniors are shelling out $14000 on one player.

Now that's good business.
