Mainland Premier League

Nomads fighting a battle of the $ kind as well as avoiding getting relegated out of MPL.

With no home games [for all teams] being played at Tulett Park less money going over the bar every week.

Nomads have 3 teams playing as a home game at ASB Park this weekend, must be costing a few dollars unless Mainland have stopped charging.

A couple of big games tomorrow that will impact on the MPL next season Nomads vs. University in the Premier League and Christchurch United vs. Selwynin Div 1.

Be good to have Selwyn join us in top league. club with ambition and a plenty of youth grades unlike Christchurch united. Could go along  and watch it how bout you allwhites82?

Hard to be in two place at the same time. Pity that ChCh United are still not playing at ASB on a Friday night..

Christchurch United may not have a lot of junior teams but the PDL team is top of the table and 21 points ahead of Selwyn PDL.

Tech too classy for Coastal winning 3-0.

Paid my olive.

In other news Uni beat Nomads 1-0 and the other games were both 2-2 draws.

Yes University scored in the first half a shot hit the cross bar and Univ first to the loose ball with Nomads then going a player dowe when keeper sent off in the 2nd half with Lee Hinton then producing two saves in thr final seconds to keep Nomads scoreless.

Both Bays and Suburbs coming from two down with both sides equalishing in the finish minutes of play.

Nothing like what you'd expect. No sending offs or anything like that, just a good old fashioned ass-kicking. In truth FC created probably a dozen good chances and scored 6, a good ratio in anyone's book. Apparently they've played like that the last 3 or so weeks without the finishing. Today was their day. First time i've seen Waimak this year and i was seriously under-whelmed. Had a good period for 20 minutes at the end of the first half, created maybe 3 good chances the whole game, seriously average though.

She has been there since the 2nd game, don't think you could call that mid season & once the transfer is done she is no longer a cashmere player.

Good to see tech doing so well in the MPL with a Coastal player scoring a lot of their goals

Selwyn were lucky in a way against them a few weeks ago. FC couldn't have hit the side of the barn from 2 yards. Looks like the could today

Before today the young Waimak side have been playing good football. Today for FC2011, Karma lined up with The Age of Aquarius (or something), while Waimak kids were still wiping the sleep out of their eyes from all the early WC mornings ...

Good to see Uni get the result they absolutely needed to put the pressure back on Nomads.

Nomads going to be down on players for next couple of games, taking a reserve reserve keeper to Nelson.

Expect Nomads will have a couple of players looking to have big games [as opposed to cruising through a game] once they get back from playing the Aussies in Wellington in July.

Sounds like Sean is the perfect replacement for Braith in the Canty Utd set up then :)

Figuratively chewing one's ear off in local ChCh competition can range between 1 match ban (RB - Universities) to 5 matches in this case.

Makes a 9 match ban for taking an physical chomp out of someone's shoulder on the world stage a better value proposition for next time!

They have a few options in the club just need to look outside the square.

Anderson not playing like a striker more a wide mid.
