I think you might be closer to the Cs management team with all that inside info Ma wee train.

Yes we went to 3 at the back in the second half , that's what you do when your behind you tweek things and if doesn't work it's quite rightly Down to the coach and if it does work  its certainly down to the players . As far someOne having a go at your coach, it didnt come from the tech side , I think you might find it came from a coastal supporter. There's a lot that goes on on the sideline from both sides , if you've got the video please send it to me I'll put in my scrap book. Also if you beat Tech like every defeat and there's been quite a few in my 17 years of coaching . I'll congratulate your team and fans, on the drinking side yes  I love a beer or 3 at one of your sponsors osheas. When Western beat us in the English cup the best way of congratulating them was to scull a beer in thier changing rooms it didn't taste bitter what so ever.  As for the tech board send them an email, the reason I came on here was you had 3 Cs board members slagging my club as well as others and my players , vim at the forefront ,as for slagging me as you can see I've got thick skin

Just for the record my beef is with clubs that pay players. I hate it, it stuffs up the league and I stand by that. I mentioned it a number of times on this forum a few years back when money was then being offered to some of our female players and got shot down saying it "doesn't happen" and then got personal insults about being a teacher and how could I possibly post things on my lunch break or something stupid. Seems that old chestnut comes out every time people feel threatened.

I'm out this time I promise.

Let's see if I can explain this clearly. On this forum I post, as I have done for 9 years, as a football fan. Not as my employer, my previous roles or anything like that. If this was a teachers forum, and I was posting on something teacher related and I'm acting like a dick, I'd completely agree that I am out of line.

The difference is you are an MPL coach, and posting on a football related thread about something you are involved in so the lines are a little muddier and you open yourself up. I don't make personal attacks on anyone else's occupations (not that I know them) on here so why is it ok? Comments on another MPL coach having a bong is pretty low I reckon and surely you and others can see that? Ekow's manned up and apologised to all concerned and to you personally however you keep digging.

If I was still on my football club board, and one my MPL coaches brought the game into disrepute then I'd tell them to stop. Simple.

I really really promise I'm out this time.

And on that note, here is next week's picks for the Chatham Cup. Great for some of our punters to be able to have a crack at their own game seeing as we have some Championship teams in there.

I've included Wakefield vs Richmond, however not FC Nelson vs Undecided as I can't work out what the hell is happening there. If anyone can explain please do and I can change it.

Chatham Cup Week

Edit: I had to make the decision and do a "after 90 minutes" call, so keep that in mind please when placing your picks.

I think he might have a point here Broonie. What someone does for a job doesn't have any bearing on (or shouldn't) what goes on in his own time.

I think the bong thing has gotten blown way out of proportion, from a simple, and not unreasonable question that the Trains first post ever looked fairly manic and possibly meth amphetamine fueled. It wasn't. I have the exclusive rights for crank on the east side and he is not one of my customers.

That last bit was a joke also. The only crank I sell is to cyclists, and then not very often.

Can't agree more here. I don't think occupation should even be brought into it. Not at all relevant to the discussion.

so as a board member your ok accusing other clubs of what you have in the past ,like player payments getting funding money having barbs at tech for getting Garrick on board as Fifa ground and many more accusations

As I said I'm not commenting as a board member (I'm not a board member) I am commenting as little old Fuego.  I'd like to think a headlining coach in the media has a bit more say and profile than a lowly board member who does sausage sizzles whilst being a vegetarian.

He is not a board member. You seem to be dredging up the past wrongs a bit here. This will achieve not very much.

Vim, my omnivorous companeros appreciate your barbecuing sacrifices.

Do we get done for match fixing by judging our own matches?

Just checking as the picks are for Cup game we are picking the winner or can we have a 'draw' at the end of normal time.

Yes so you can have a draw.  This is just a 90 minute pick like they do at the TAB.

Yes I think he has been playing for Western Springs up there. Needed to play or something and get in the NZ football scene.

AW82, 24 goals in last weekend's MPL. Record goals scored in a single round? #footballgoesallsuperrugby

I cannot put my fingers on round to round stats easily, but having a quick look 24 goals is near or would be at the top of the list for a 8 team competition.

In the first season there were 12 teams and there were some big scores that season, 39 games had 5 or more goals scored - three of the scores were 10 - 0 11- 1 and 12 - 0, with the average numbers of goals score per game was 3.86, which is the record for a MPL season.

This season were are currently on 3.25 goals per game.

I see Jackson's name on the player's list provided to media that is currently training with the All Whites in Auckland.

A one match ban for Charles of Christchurch United for a deliberate stomp just below the knee on a Nomads player.

That is tha same stand down as a hand ball on the goal line. You kick a player when miss timing a tackle a stomp is not a tackle.

Go figure that ruling.

Maybe just the ref having a pair of blinkers on. Not surprised there if that was the case, he did with what should have been a penalty had he been adjudicating with consistency.

I expect the assessor standing 20 metres away didn't see either of these calls.

Was the player carded in the game then?

At least he gets a punishment! A Parklands forward last week clearly stamped on one of our defenders legs well after the ball had gone. Referee saw it and said "I saw him stamp on the ground next to the players leg". Gave him a yellow.
Permalink Permalink

That's part of the reason I was asking if it was seen by the ref and a card was issued. Parkland's have taken internal action over that incident

So a yellow card is not a punishment?

What is frustrating the intentional stamp got the same punishment as an excitable young lad making his debut who was booked when one on one with the keeper carried on and scored so was deemed to have kicked the ball away.
