Yes, they would move above Ferrymead Bays, Christchurch United and Selwyn, moving to 6th place with a better goal difference than Selwyn.

What happens if Waimak lose in the playoffs and don't get promoted to Southern League? Do they relegate the bottom 2 (Chch Utd U20 and Parklands) or just not promote the top CCL team (Uni 2nds)?

Also heard whispers Oxford FC might be promoted into CPL next season...

Maybe increase to a 12 team in that case - the top nine from the CPL this season (Parklands relegated) plus FC Twenty 11, UC 2nds and Oxford.

Why would Oxford be getting promoted from div 1 to CPL? Surely CCL is the next step?

Southern League Promotion Playoff - 14th or 15th (Waimak Utd v FC Nelson).
· Southern League Promotion Playoff - 21st or 22nd (FC Nelson v Waimak Utd), in Nelson.
· Southern League Promotion Playoff - 28th or 29th (Winner FC Nelson/Waimak Utd v Wanaka). If Waimak Utd win over the two legs against FC Nelson, there will be a two game playoff against Wanaka FC, home & away. The 2nd game will be on 5/6 October. If FC Nelson win over those two legs against Waimak Utd, there will only be a one off game played against Wanaka FC, in Christchurch on the 28th or 29th.

Why is it a one-off game it's between Nelson and Wanaka and two-leg tie if it's Waimak v Wanaka?

I thought that would be the reason, but makes a bit of a mockery about it, why not have a potential Waimak v Wanaka game as a one-off then, if it's about saving money?

A one off game needs to be at a neutral venue. Nelson verus Wanaka, a ground in Christchurch the obvious choice.

Waimak verus Wanaka, where would you play that. Twizel?

Timaru probably. Would be surprised if there were any decent football grounds in Twizel

Hard to imagine. Assuming it'd be the weekend of the 28th (Nelson v Waimak this weekend), Otago are playing Tasman in the NPC at Forsyth Barr on that Saturday.

Seems like, should FC Nelson make it through next week and play Wanaka in the one-off game, that will be in Christchurch.
"FC Nelson will now host Waimak in the return leg at Guppy Park next Saturday afternoon and if it is successful, will go on to face Wanaka in Christchurch."

Action-packed win for FC Nelson

They should do, although I was at the game, and Waimak probably subconsciously took the foot off at 2-0 up so early, and then a stupid pen was given away and boom, the game was back on. I wouldn't count Waimak out just yet...

Kinda makes sense for the one-off game to be played at English Park, as that's were MF is.

Agree the play-offs still open for both sides.

For FC Nelson the 1st leg was their first game in over a month, so could have been a factor for their slow start, FC likely to have Billy Scott and Labu Pan back for this Saturday and can see a bumper crowd to support them and get them home.

Waimak will be disappointed that they gave up a two-goal lead but know that they also missed a handful of other good chances, and they are only a goal down on aggregate, so it is still a case very much a case of game on.

That'll be huge if there are more Nelson teams in the SL than Dunedin teams
