Totally agree Liverpool for eva. Suggest that yaldhurst is already booked for Saturday as they need the money. Either default or play at Parkland. Or both lose the points. Yep Mainland need to grow a pair.

It’s nothing to do with the availability of the pitch. It’s all come down to the actual date of the fixture and the action not being taken earlier to rectify the sotuat

was a battle indeed in tough conditions. western will be happy with the point coming from 2 down. yes, the assist and the 3rd was very well worked and finished. think he showed how valuable will be and with better players around him will be a big part for their promotion push. halswell looked the most dangerous, the more likely for the most part and not afraid to play given the heavy surface

From Hawks' Facebook page:

Another huge effort in CCL to maintain the clubs unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought three all daw away to the other promotion contender Western. The result means the gap between the teams stays at three points.

It’s a measure of how far the team have progressed since last year with coach Robbie Barroclough , unhappy at having dropped two points after being ahead 3-1. Both new signings Stuart Kelly and Kevin Guttman had impressive starts to their Halswell careers.

Who gains promotion will be down to whoever holds their nerve and doesn’t drop points to lower teams in the weeks ahead but at the minute Halswell hold too spot.

From Western's FB page:

The first team had a tough game against top of the table Halswell on Saturday and worked ard to come back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

So the question is will CCL games go ahead this weekend if all others are postponed?

With no MPL games, Waimak and Chch Utd are at home anyway, there would only be the need to move Western v Parklands (to any of the turfs).

If postponed again then the CCL will be left with no fall back dates to complete the season, which considering the turfs will be stupid.

13 Jun 09:45

Yes, I have heard that CCL games are likely to go ahead this weekend. Games at English Park and other artificial's. Although CFC under water at the moment. But Chch United is away to Burwood anyhow.

The page I had picked up their home game next Friday which is the bit I saw :) But could easily be switched (would imagine a couple of good days will get rid of the surface water they have)

It’s not really a catch up game anymore as they played last week when no one else did ?

it’s always curious trying to guess who is who on YF

I always thought benchwarmer was a big red head from pLands( who I rate ) but no it’s not , I have a lot of time for there coach . The intel I’ve received, which I hope is false , was of a sub who came on on but before he did all he did was try and influence the ref to send off a young talented player

Hopefully I’m wrong

Sorry I didn’t wait around 15 minutes after making a post just to see if someone had posted to me ?, I must remember to hang around next time!

I’m not here to get into an argument based around what went on and what didn’t go on, and it’s definitely not my style to attack people on here.

For yesterday’s game Western were the better team and you deserved the 3 points this time Broonie. I don’t think we had a single shot on target and being our first game (and unable to get any full meaningful trainings in during this time either) for 3 weeks it was always going to be a struggle.

The first half was a lot more even until the defensive lapse just before half time that your guys took full opportunity of. Having switched off again we were lucky it wasn’t 2 before the break.

What was very disappointing was a couple of cheap shots that were not called by the referee in the middle, one of our guys was left concussed and had to be withdrawn following an elbow to the back of the head! Whether this was intentional or not only the player in question would know, but if the incident had of been the other way round then the Western bench would have been calling for a card too!

In the second half we didn’t come out to play and you guys took full advantage. So fair play there.

Both teams were very lucky to finish with 11 players following the flash point in the second half, with players from both sides rushing in and raising their hands. This is something we were highlighting at the time too and we’d have had no complaints if our player had been sent as well as yours. Interestingly one of the linesmen admitted seeing a few incidents but the ref said that as he didn’t see them he couldn’t do anything (is this not why the AR’s are there?)

Having lost a couple of players you certainly seem to have kicked on (funny how that happens as we’ve had similar earlier in the season and Chch Utd seem to have recently too).

Well done yesterday, and with Halswell’s result the title is back on for you guys.

16 Jun 22:28 · edited 16 Jun 22:29 · History

don’t have any issue with the fact you targeted the young talented player, looking to get him to react. Part of his learning and I thought he kept his cool well especially when the melee happened , he was kicked 3 times as he ran , ref gave a foul and all hell broke loose he did well by staying out the push and shove ,  the issue that dissapoints me is when he was keeping his cool you were trying , if you were the sub I’m thinking of, were constantly trying to get him sent off when he was just going about his business

This is isn’t anything about results gone or what’s ahead, just disappointing what I was hearing from 2 subs

16 Jun 22:34

Standing behind both benches there was a whole heap of disappointing scenes that no one should be proud of. I think my dog was the best behaved yesterday.
