When will the draw for the Ivan England be posted on the website?

The draw for this weekend is on the website. Getting grounds post season (August)  isn't easy and just have one more weekend to sort out to get confirmation around some venues. Once this is finalised the draw will be posted on the website, hopefully within a week.

I think you will find that my question was aimed at Capital football, or is this the ask smithy thread?

I just think that if the light at no 2 is not good enough for higher grades then its not really good enough for any grade.
Someone mentioned that they had a hard time trying to ref, others have mentioned having a hard time playing due to light.
If thats the case should it matter what grade plays?

Just a question smithy, so no need to get upset.

As per the original post "The view taken is that there is enough lighting for games to be played allowing players a better experience to play on a superior surface than slog around in the mud on a Saturday!"

Generally it is the lower graded grades that end up playing on the poorer pitches especially when it has rained for a couple of days (excepting those that may have played at Endeavour and Newtown!). Just ask those teams who have had to play at McAlister, Happy Valley or the Velodrome. It was felt that these teams would prefer to 1) get to play 2) at least play on a decent surface, with some limitations on lighting.

Thanks for the reply, was not a case of hassling Capital Football, as advised it was more a case of going off others statements inc someone that had to ref. As someone who tries to ref when I can help out I know how hard it can be at the best of times without having to deal with light issues.

Thanks for all the effort you guys put in during the season.

Are CF going to update the Results page on the website with the season's history?

All the tables for all the grades that are finished are up there including Round 1 tables in some cases.
Yes the tables are there but the Q was about the results.  According to the "This season" section, there has been no senior men's football played in the Capital since 10 April.  Since these results are, according to previous advice from Cap Fed, the official results based on cards (the "Current" being phoned results so subject to dickheadedness), this is not very acceptable.

Part of this comes down to the value of putting this detail on the website each week and how many are interested in this information. Capital Football also send the results for CL and Prem to the Sunday Star Times. How many actually look up results there?

Interestingly as has been pointed these results haven't been posted since 10 April and it is only now (6 August) that this has been raised. Although there may have been silent protests and those that now support these being shown.

It is a reasonable request for teams to be able to access the results from previous rounds. Capital Football will endeavour to make thses available over the next few days.

Thanks for that. This weekend could be a good test with the weather looking dodgy tomorrow and Friday. Those teams playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights may well be the benefactors.

What's the story with Promotion/relegation between Cap 1 and Cap 2. Is it a straight 2 up, 2 down, or is there a playoff between 2nd bottom, 2nd top?

If the top two teams are eligible to go up then 2 up, 2 down. Otherwise if one of the top two isn't eligible eg. Wgtn Utd then playoff between 3rd and 2nd bottom. As it currently stands Naenae & KCU down, University and Tawa up.

Ok, thanks for that. That's a bit more straight forward the Prem/Cap1. Thankfully!! Well by looking at it all it looks like it's goodbye KCU/Naenae, hello University/Tawa.Pilonidal Sinus2011-08-11 14:25:17

The basis is the same if top 2 eliigbile, 2 up, 2 down. It gets a bit more complicated if UH/WU do up.

Working on League placings at the moment:

Petone replace Wests. WK not eligible. NW play Wainui. Whoever wins is in Cap Prem.
If UH/WU go up then Wainui and NW in Prem.
This playoff game will be played before the CL Playoff rather than waiting.

If NW doesn't end up 3rd the liklihood is a non eligiible team will Miramar, IBU, WU.
If so and UH/WU go up, Petone would replace them in Prem and Wainui, Wests stay.

good point!!so if well utd win last 2 games they come 3rd in cap 1??but surely wainui would not play wgtn utd 2nds in playoff, just in case wgtn utd win prem and get promoted?that decision could be a month or so away.
how would this work??

I raise only now as this avenue has not been around for that long as far as I know, and ringing can spark an ear-bashing - or did a few years ago.  I have been very aware of the lack since May when I checked for April's results to confirm the tables I keep, then periodically since for the same purpose.  I am also aware how busy our club contact is so hesitate especially when the areas of my currrent ignorance are mainly in lower divisions - I have got over it by over-riding my engine to enter numbers from your tables.
Thanks again

Damn trainspotters in football!
Will know more after this weekend.

If WU do come 3rd the playoff against Wainui would be the next weekend following the end of the Prem league. It may end up being unnecessary (if WU don't go up) however, better to play asap than wait until CL playoffs completed.

Hi capital football, you mention this in another thread:

Marist to beat Island bay only if they play some 1st teamers!

Regulations don't allow it. Marist has finished their Prem season
What exactly are the regulations for players dropping down grades? Seems like it might be happening a bit with midweek games on the turfs (1st/2nd teams not playing till the weekend, dropping players down the grades and vice versa)?

Player Eligibility

1)      A player being duly registered and otherwise complying with these and relevant Regulations shall be at liberty to play in the competitions in any team entered by his/her Club in any division at the discretion of his Club selection committee.   A player is defined as a person who actually takes the field in the current season.  Unless otherwise specified, regrading or regraded means the movement of players up or down grades/teams. A week means from Tuesday to Monday inclusive.

The following shall apply:
a)
No more than three Central, Capital Premier or Womens Premier players can be regraded down into any local league team for any one game.  When a relevant Central, Capital Premier or Womens Premier team has completed their competition, no further players can be regraded down from such Central, Capital Premier or Womens Premier League teams.

b)      For Capital 1 division and below, including womens divisions, no more than three players can be regraded into any one team for any one game.
c)      A Central, Capital Premier, Womens Premier or Capital 1 player must play 2 consecutive games over two weeks for the same lower graded team (other than for Capital Premier or Womens Premier) prior to regrading, unless they are returning to their original team.
d)
Once a player has played 2 consecutive games over two weeks for a Clubs lower graded team, s/he is deemed to be a member of that team until such time that s/he returns to the higher graded team.
e)
A player can only be regraded once during any one week, except during the weeks that include Easter and Queens Birthday when a player can be regraded twice.
f)
When a team has completed its season, and is involved in a playoff, no further player can be regraded to that team, unless it can be shown that the player has not at any time during the season played in a higher grade than the team involved in the play-off has been playing in.

Regulations don't allow it. Marist has finished their Prem season
What exactly are the regulations for players dropping down grades? Seems like it might be happening a bit with midweek games on the turfs (1st/2nd teams not playing till the weekend, dropping players down the grades and vice versa)?

If you were to look at the CF Regulations you'd be none the wiser!
There are so many different scenarios that could apply.
For example in the Cup competitions, players are "cup-tied" and can't move between divisions.

The general rule of thumb is that dropping 3 players and therefore only having 3 higher graded players in a lower grade team is allowed.

Are this weeks Under21 games part of the regular competition? Or just friendlies as last week.
Our season has just started picking up and we would like to gain points.

Cheers.

Why do you need points Stefan, its just a fun league?

To going on 50 year old pricks who think they know everything it is.
Perhaps the ones who are young enough to play, have an opinion and give a sh*t about the league its a valid question.

The only ones who don't like U21's are the ones who dont play in it.
Get over it.

Stefan it doesn't look like last weeks were friendlies, as there were points awarded (counter to what Cap Football told the clubs). good for my team as we finish top of the table but not good for those that based things on the games only being friendlies (especialy Rovers who now don't qualify for the grand final game).

It would be good to get this clarified Cap Football.

Radical idea for CF to consider.  Ban goalie punts in junior grades.  Why?  Because possession football is where we need to be - and punts hardly ever end up in possession being kept.  Just more 'Route One' rubbish.  It would freak a lot of coaches, goalies, players and supporters out .... but it would help send a strong message and develop thinking and skills.

i thought that was already in use.i reffed a couple of under 12 rep games at the end of last season between wanganui, manawatu and taranaki and the goalkeepers had to throw the ball instead of punting it.not sure if it is the same in club football

If a 'home game' is played away early in the year for ground availability reasons or whatever [completely understandable] is there a fixure reversal policy? As in, will you have the return leg played at the venue the first leg was scheduled for?

Example- in cap 1 Wellington United played their home game (first leg) at Naenae so are we likely to see the return leg played in town?

I understand (re)scheduling would be a nightmare for you guys but with a some leagues finished this week could that make it more possible?

Thanks, keep up the good work.

Fuck this stupid game

Is there a way to challenge refs bookings?  I don't mean to bag out refs as usually they do a great job but there are some real muppets out there, esp in the lower grades, one in particular the week before last who was just having a real power trip on both teams.

The games this weekend as per last weekend were friendlies. Unfortunately when the results were added it updated the table. The table now reflects the final table after a complete round of 5 games.

This is the format for the end of the season for U21 and U17

U21 A:

Sunday 7th August complete 2nd round of competition
Sunday 14th August no games Ivan England
Sunday 21st August no games Secondary Schools
Sunday 28th August Finals 1 v 2 & 3 v 4

U21 B:

Sunday 7th August Friendly games
Sunday 14th August Friendly games
Sunday 21st August no games Secondary Schools
Sunday 28th August Finals 1 v 2, 3 v 4 & 5 v 6

U17:

Sunday 7th August Round 4
Sunday 14th August no games Ivan England
Sunday 21st August no games Secondary Schools
Sunday 28th August Round 2
(Will only be able to get another full round completed if play games on 4 September)

Good point however, thats not the policy at the moment.
The draw will show the home team in your example as Naenae.
Whilst they benefitted from the "reverse fixturing" in the first game, that wasn't because they were at fault.
They have every right to expect that the 2nd game is regarded as their home game.

In addition, the draws are all linked together through "pairings". To try and explain in a few words it essentially means that not all of Karoris teams are at home at the same time, or Miramars or Lower Hutt's or WUs. So if the 2nd games were reverse fixtured back, this would have an effect on the pariings.

Also this happens a lot in lower grades, so it's not just one or two games that would affect the pairings, if the 2nd games weren't kept as home games.

Finally look at this transfer:-

Masters 3
Tawa Blues __  Nth Wgtn Onslows __ Onepoto 1 (2.30pm) NOW Awakairangi 5

Nth Wgtn have every right to expect a home game next round. However, Tawa can hardly claim to having a home game. As said previously, none of it obviously idea however, its what needs to be done to get games played and the season completed.

Long way of saying, there a number for reasons for keeping the return game as per the draw.

Not really.

Firstly the FIFA Laws of the Games say the decisions of the referee are final. The NZF Regulations then state that the Referee's Report shall be taken as fact except where there has been a case of mistaken identity.

It's a pretty dangerous can of worms. Once that is started it would be almost endless. At the very least there would be some sort of fee involved to ensure that the players are absolutely sure and for the amount of resource needed to try and manage the challenges.

Even then its almost a no win situation if the booking is challenged and the decision is kept the same. Players still not going to be happy.

There were a number of requests today asking if the games on Wakefield were going to be cancelled. Capital Football understands the extreme weather that is happening at the moment. And the issues around playing in the freezing cold. However, the grounds because they are artificals are open.

4/6 of the Womens games last night were played in the snow, including a team from Wainuiomata!

No teams were being forced to play. If a team wanted to default, they were able to. If the teams came to an agreement not to play, that was fine.

The point that was made to the teams, is that if the games didn't go ahead, it was unlikely that the games would be rescheduled. There are already 13 catch up games from previous weekends. There simply isn't enough weeks left to try and fit these in.

With this weekends round of cancellation are we able to go into the first weekend of September to finish off the competitions or do we need to give some of the grounds back to the councils for them to start preparing for summer sports?

Games will go to the 1st weekend in September to finish off competitions. In some cases a few catch up games will even be the 2nd weekend of September.

Councils have indicated that some grounds will have to start getting prepared for summer sports, mostly those with cricket wickets. However there will be enough available to finish the season.

does that include the last of the cup games, ie teams not involved in the final of their cup comp?

Yes that's the plan. assuming weather is okay, so no grounds restricted and subject to ground availability, those cup games that aren't finals will also be played. At this stage they will go ahead.

The two teams involved Miramar and KCU did not play on the pitch allocated by Capital Football. As per the CF regulations the home team had a default recorded against them i.e. a 0-2 loss.
Miramar appealed to NZF who ruled that the game be treated as being abandoned. That is what the table reflects.

Why wasn't the original rule upheld?

Seems clearcut, they didn't play on the allocated pitch, the rule states the home team therefore defaults. Not much grey area there...

Not that I particularly care.

Allegedly
