Its good to see Capital Football on here in an official capacity, but i am sure they have been trawling through for years.

Lets make it easy for them and put all our general questions in one thread. After all they have nigh on 200 team cards to manually input every week- they don't have time to be searching out our questions in these myriad dens of inquisitory.

So, to start the ball rolling via Messy from the div 5 forum- Capital Football- Will the abandoned games be played?

Thanks Messy and Salmon. CF's main objective is to play as many games as possible, where we can. As to the abandoned games it's probably a case of maybe. As teams probably realise almost all games played on the artificials are scheduled games not catch ups (although the odd one has been played). This is the only way that the season will be completed. There probably isn't enough space left on the artificials to catch up every game and certainly not enough for any more! Therefore the likelihood is that those abandoned games that make a difference to promotion/relegation will be played and the others maybe.

CF - can you schedule all next year's junior grade 12 games involving Wharfies at Nairnville, Te Whaea or Wakefield? Cheers.

As much as CF would like to meet specific requests, all teams affiliation fees include ground charges for artificials therefore as much possible this needs to be shared amongst all grades, men, women and juniors. Cheers

Junior football question: rumour has it that there'll be no RTC or FTC for year 2000 girls this year and that GOSL only girls won't be eligible, ie. they have to play Saturday football to be picked.  Is that true?

Ive got a request. I haven't been able to play for my U21 team for months due to work. And I really want to play once more. Any chance you can give us a late game next week? After 5pm?
Im North Wellington Athletic.
Would be appreciated by all.

Just a note that this thread isn't for personal requests.  As CF have already said, they can't possibly deal with individual requests or questions related to specific teams.

For those sorts of communications, that don't have general public interest, contact CF through your club.Smithy2011-07-27 08:51:14

Just checking: was that prompted by my question?  'Cos I think it was reasonably generic, even if there are not many on here interested in junior girl's football.

Definitely not Stevel.

You might have to wait for a response to yours I suspect.  Alida Shanks is on holiday and Andy Hedge is in Colombia at the U20 WC.

Good question though.

From what little I know about plans, the FTC/RTC structure is changing a little bit.

Stevel Largley Smithy is right. The Talent Programme will be somewhat different from last year. Details are being finalised by NZ Football including age groups that will be included. At this stage there isn't any suggestion that Girls only Leagues players would be ineligible. More details will come out in August, trials will be held in September and the programme will be starting at the end of Octoer.

Dear CF

You have a new (I think)  rule that players can only play in one Cup comp. My team has a Kelly Cup game this weekend and I have a few players leaving for US College and four at NZ u17s camp. Our Div 1 team played in their cup last week. We only have two wimmins teams. I am battling to find eligible players.
Can you please change this rule.
thanks

"four at NZ u17s camp." use the NZF rule about national duty and postpone the game. ha ha

Dear CF

Why do the BNU and island bay teams have to play at Te Whea on Monday night while the rest of the grade plays at wakefield on Monday. Are we not the home teams?

This is frustrating because the following monday we spent $300 at our clubs bar and want to support our club.

They need all the support they can get since it now costs us $1000 per red card.

thanks

Ducky, I think that is a question best addressed to CF via your club.

Issues with the draw can't really be dealt with on here.

Thanks.

(as an aside: this thread really is an insight into what the CF office has to deal with every day - rather them than me).

CF, at the Nix vs. Wests game at Wakefield a couple weeks back, why was there nobody from CF or any other entity keeping people off the pitch? I saw at least two people drinking alcohol on the turf and a young child spill a bottle of coke in the warm up area. It seems unfair that players who pay subs are being fined whilst others arent?

Oh man there is a lot of stupid here.

I can answer that one AJ13.

Capital Football don't own the pitch.  Wellington City Council do.  They hire it to the Phoenix to play games on.  Capital Football don't even enter the equation.

When Capital Football's users are using the pitch, they fine them for misuse.

When someone else is hiring the pitch though, Capital Football have no jursidiction.

Thanks for the reply and the reassurance re GOSL only players.  Would be madness to exclude them.  It's such a good competition you're running and while it caters for a lot girls who wouldn't otherwise play, often that's due to netball commitments and there are some decent players in the league who, with a bit of recognition and the opportunity for development, could be tempted to focus more on their football than other sports.

Makes sense. The council need to be taking a more proactive approach to fining everyone, not just football players, who desecrate this pitch. the two dogs i saw running around on it a few weeks ago for example, would the owner have been fined $300 and banned from using the pitch? doubt it. im willing to bet only sports players will ever get into trouble over breaking the rules, the general public will not.

The only way would be to hire a security guard who could hand out fines. Is that really worth it?

Maybe if it gets bad enough.

Allegedly

CF

If Cap 1 finishes Petone, Wharf, Norf Welli

And the bottom of Prem is Nui then Wests.

And Nui beats NW in the playoff match.

And then UH or Utd get promoted to CL for 2012.

Who gets the vacant Prem spot in 2012? Wests or NW??

I think if a Prem side goes up to replace a Central region CL side, then top Cap1 gets auto promotion as per normal but 9th Prem is safe. And bottom Cap Prem plays off with 2nd Cap1 (normally 9th Prem would play off with 2nd Cap1)
Permalink Permalink

that doesnt help. for a start this is the first year there is no playoff for second places cap1 side (automatic promo)

Ah ok. Well then id imagine top two in Cap1 go up, bottom Prem goes down, 9th Prem safe?

edit: if theres no play off games and just straight promotion, why did you mention Nui vs. NW play off? I dont even see why 3rd Cap1 would come into the equation? Im lost.   Waiting for CF to answer...

This thread wasnt set up for your imagination AJ13. Instead of filling it up with your guesswork why not just let Capital Football answer the question as intended?

CF,  Stop out womens div 3 team has had two HOME games against Naenae and Nth Wellington where the games were played at Naenae park and Alex Moore. Whats up with that?

Is there going to be a review of the season structure in particular in regards to the cut off grades where teams are promoted into a grade at mid season but teams cannot be promoted out  into the grade above. Would be nice to play for something in the first half of the season other than just avoiding relegation, and it does seem kind of unfair that a team can get credit for winning a grade and secure promotion when they have lost significantly more games than other teams but had the good fortune to have their looses in the first half of the season not the second half.

why? thats a great rule
nah true - but not sure what the solution would be??
I think mid season promo is a good idea - and you need to have a cut off somewhere. Its all social football.

I do wonder if mid-season might be better if it was just 1 side?

With a 10 team grade the impact wouldn't be so large but two up two down twice a season is pretty wholesale changes in an 8 team grade.

Not sure of a solution either tbh was never a fan of having the season split into two halfs feels more like mini tournaments then a season. Possibly you could take the winner from the first half and the winner from the second half of the season for promotion at the end of the season so at least theres something to play for?
