The woodwork is getting a huge workout this season. That one deserved a goal.

So Kyle Rowles gets his red card over turned by the MRP.

Surely this needs more explanation. Seems incorrect that MRP can actually over turn a straight red card, setting a dangerous precedence. Was there more to it? Did the referee over react?

This decision just more erodes at the public respect for match officials. Now the MRP are getting in on the act of inconsistency. Rufers ban after the referees boss admitted the mistake for example.

The thing that mostly surprises me here though. If it was a Sydney FC player that was let off a red card, that would be consistent with officiating in the A league. The fact that it was a CCM player has me really confused.

Given after the whistle so not involving a footballing moment. I don't think it'll set too much of an on-field precedent.

It does kind of reek of 'evening things up' though as a sop to the Mariners for the 3 penalty fiasco, which in itself is an indication that the whole officiating structure is so riddled with inconsistencies as to be unworkable.

If the evidence is so clearcut that Fielding made an error with the red card then it only goes to prove that he's not even close to an acceptable refereeing standard. Same goes for Ams too. The Fielding/Ams combo was like a perfect storm of incompetence. Yet after getting a gentle talking to, a spot of retraining and a few weeks off they'll be right back again.

The threshold for rescinding a Red card is 'no card could be shown', so whatever he said is suddenly not worth a yellow card.

Frankly speaking, the whole A League match official base and their guidelines and training sucks. Most are so inconsistent it isn't funny.

They should all be having the very same interpretations of the rules to abide by. Some are good, some are bad some have good days and bad days. Whoever is in charge of them needs to take a seriously long look at themselves, the operating standards and implementations.

Get all the officials on the same page. I almost feel sorry for them. They all need to be consistent to both teams in any particular game, Whether that is being good or bad. Otherwise it it gives a bad impression.

As for VAR, it's the very same referees making the VAR calls. Again inconsistency, except in Sydney City's favour, and lengthy delays are giving it a poor or bad reputation. When you have four monitors showing different angles and you watch them in slow mo replays, just how many do you need??

I'm all in favour of goal line technology but I think VAR is not warranted when an offside can be given because some players knee is deemed 1 cm in front. Leave it to the guy in the middle to make the final decision once he has conferred with his two linespersons.

That referee had a toaster in his pocket. 1 red and 10 yellows I think it ended. If Kruse doesn't get done for simulation it will be a severe injustice. And something that came out was that Strieblocksky is still reviewing Da Villa's tackle on Cheat Kruse and is pushing for a red card/suspension. Therein is the problem, the boss of the referees was one of the worst and as their boss he hasn't improved.
