didnt think there was any such organisation as FFA

FFA no longer running the A League, but still very much in existence running ever other facet of Australian Football.

So, is it not just FA then?

Ahhhh missed that. Is now just Football Australia I see, from December.

But there can only be one FA Cup, and it won't be downunder.

Hence the FFA Cup 'branding' to stay, until they get a reasonable naming rights deal, I'd assume.

Odds are it will be renamed the Australia Cup, maybe with the previous history attached to the records

Pity they have not decided to call it the Australia Cup.  Better name then FFA Cup hands down.

That is still a possibility I think, with the FFA rebranding to Football Australia.

Rnd of 32 is in Zones, so we have to play another Zone 3 team. So pretty much locked in to be playing in Melbourne. Rnd of 16 onwards is an open draw.

Bizarre list really.  They should have called the East group Sydney.  Also begs the question why Newcastle (U) was not in that group too or included in the North group considering its closer to Brissy then Melbourne.

It will be due to their seeding after the A-League season. In theory, Western is the better team so more likely to win.

Roar have the best draw, they can't draw another A-League team in the Rnd of 32.

A few Kiwis in that Sharks side, hopefully they can advance & we draw them in the Rnd of 32.

Port Melbourne equalise in the 89th minute, win it in extra time. Wellsmore the stand out player in the game for me (helped by Moreland sitting back trying to defend the lead the whole second half + being on the camera side that half helps).

Draw is tomorrow night, hopefully we can face them in the Rnd of 32.

Sux that we've drawn an A League side (seems to happen every season). Would actually like to see us play a different side for once instead of the Jest or Snakes for the millionth time.

Rnd of 16 is open draw, so let's win this first one and then we could be off anywhere to play the next game

Yep, we might have a chance at an A-League team because we're terrible against NPL teams. Didn't we lose against a ten man team last time round? I remember Ball butchering a penalty and the angst against him as a dud signing after that game.

NPL teams usually are at the end of their season so are peaking with the performances typically, whereas A League teams have maybe one or two pre-season games before there’s, plus have new teams/coaches so it’s not very cohesive, so I don’t mind playing one of those two first, given they’ll be in a rebuild.

Although WU/Jets would have played each other to qualify to play us so they'll be better prepared.

Jets would be the bigger concern cos they beat us last season, we have WU figured out - plus new coach, new players may mean WU are still figuring things out.

Jets have got all their business sorted very early in the season, so they are clearly the bigger threat cuz they will have been training together since Day 1. Western appears to be in a mess atm.
