Good game. Plenty of players willing to run at defences with ball at feet. Much better spectacle than the usual A league pass the ball in a u shape for long periods with out creating anything.

Only saw the first half. Oakleigh were doing well, but looked like they fell apart after there centre back went off injured.

Sydney United defended for their lives all thru their cup run, just today they didn't take their half chance when offered. The guys on the park can be very proud of their efforts here.

Problem is that this Ustaše bullshark is pretty endemic in the Aussie Croatian community. If you kick out Sydney United do the Melbourne Knights have to follow? I wonder why it's not like that here (or at least if it is I haven't heard of people yelling ZA DOM SPREMNI at Central United games. Maybe it's because the bulk of the Croatian community came here in the 1890s to dig gum, not in 1945 for "reasons".)

Also how many other Slavic nationals live here? Don’t think there’s anywhere near as many Serbs here as there are in Sydney or Melbourne for Croats to clash with.

I'm probably just bitter that the Nix couldn't equal (or better) last year's cup run, but how disappointing to have a national cup trophy already awarded before the season has even started. By all means, start the qualifying rounds at the tail end/start of the season but play the last few rounds during the season proper!

nah, I like it as a separate, pre-season (for the a-league) end of season for the NPL competition. It reduces the difference between the comps.
