Jets win their 8th in a row.

Adelaide women win in Brisbane so down to 4th we go. Only have ourselves to blame for that.

Some of these attacks!

Sawyer and Duke at MacArthur.
Mata at Victory.
Kraev, Fraser, Kosta and Ibusuki at West Sydney.
The Jets boys are making their names daily.

Randall and Piper are in good company here! As is Eze.

at least we might get less people pointing at the women's team saying that their "success" means Domey and Gill are actually good at running football operations

despite everything the women's team has gone through, the club has supported them (and the players) and it has shown in results. They, and Adl, have at least a game in hand against the rest of the league (2 games in hand against a few teams).

Jets have been impressive and entertaining this year. Burgess is thriving as a playmaker 6, with four like-minded dynamic creative options in front of him, in Baylis, Dobson, Taylor and Adams. It's as if the coach chose the 4141 formation to suit his players.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Dobson get a good overseas offer soon. IMHO he's stood out in an outstanding side.

Jeez we might be contesting WSW for a new gaffer come seasons-end. Mariners come from behind twice to snare a winner in the 89th minute.

WSW really should lean into their academy pathways & go with someone like Robbie Stanton. I personally feel he laid the foundations for the Jets we are seeing atm.

Adams has been linked to Austria Vienna and MK Dons.
Taylor to various European clubs including Joe Bell's Viking.
Mark Natta also to Norway, this time FK Bodo/Glimt.

I'm sure there is others I've missed. You feel this is the season for the Jets to win the toilet seat, pre a number of young players leaving.

Even though afc have too many unsavoury characters and don't mind them losing, for the Nix it would be preferential if teams we are unlikely to catch win and teams we can catch lose or at most draw.

Enjoying Kuen v Sakai.

Good hard challenges. No discussion afterwards, just helping each other up afterwards. Kuen really doesn’t want to lose this.

And Randall!

They just look better without Cosgrove.

Their club is the opposite of no dicksheads policy that we have, lol.

If anything Beach has fouled May there.

He didn’t get the ball and he grabbed May’s legs.

Randall.

Just a skinny little lad. Power, intelligence and desire.

And a nicely played touch from Cosgrove even.

Annoying how lucky AFC are. Gifted a goal from a nothing ball pumped long two weeks in a row

I think back to how we were 2-0 up against City and should've, as AFC have done here, finished them off comfortably. Our finals hopes ended that day in my opinion.

yeah nah. AFC should be 7 or 8 up by now and this isn't the first time this season they have been attacking this well.

lol. Goalkeeper double standard there. Beach bobbles the ball, grabs May gets a free kick.
Beach flying punches and cleans out Cosgrove? Strikers’ heads are a dime a dozen.

Best performance of the season by far against the champions of last year.

Have always been very critical of Howieson to date but this was by far his best A league game.

Also nice to see a couple of 18 year old kiwis coming on.

Auckland will rise once more

their big flood of chances came after the second goal, City gave up just like we did when we went 2-0 down. City were also denied a nailed on pen. You cannot watch that game and think AFC werent lucky, even if they finished strongly.

First goal was also comical defense from City, their highly experienced LB just ball watching and letting Rogerson waltz in unmarked for no good reason whatsoever

I watched it and didn't think they were lucky. Dominant, mostly, comes more to mind.  For a period just controlling.

You could say that City were lucky the Cosgrove goal didn’t stand. That was no foul and you could see the keeper started acting only when he saw where the ball was going.

Stats:

Expected goals for AFC: 2.96
city: .49

Big chances for AFC: 5
City: 1

That City sides attack can be potent, but I struggle to recall Woud having to make a save.

Unlikely, but If they play like that each game for the rest if the year they will become champions.

Pennington gives away free kick, leading to Roar scoring from a set piece. Then a few minutes later, he scores for perf.

City have been pretty average. They only drew with the 'Nix that missed a penalty and gave them a goal with a huge Tuiloma error.

Brook has been outshone by Randall. I’ve enjoyed that.

And good to see Rogerson back and scoring.

Shocked by how much May has been a confidence player. Wouldn’t have known last season.

Defense though- does any Nix defender compete on form shown this year? Perhaps Hughes ahead of Pijnaker. Hall and Girdwood-Reich were very good.

The sympathy for AFC on this forum honestly makes me sick to my stomach.

Anyway so far so good tonight. 2 of our top 6 rivals have dropped points and if neither of Brisbane & Perth get a second half winner, then that'll be 4.
