AFC should probably have won that by more. Right now they look in much better form than us with the derby rapidly approaching. WSW an absolute must win because I can't see us beating AFC

You are judging AFC’s form off just today, they had been ordinary of late including losing to Perth last week.

Key is the Nix sorting out their defence before then.

They have left plenty of goals however out there in the games they lost and drew.

Yep... been a couple of average performances but games such as CCM they should've won 7-1.

Did we break the Roar? If this result stands, they have lost 5 out of 6 matches since the Nix beat them. 1-2

They were very good today though.

You know it’s ok to give them credit when they deserve it.

Three for me, and two for them.

Edit: Finished 1-1 and if we lose by 2 goals next weekend we will be bottom of the ladder when we host the derby

To be honest I think our seasons goal will be to avoid the wooden spoon. We are so inconsistent. If Adelaide win we will need six points to get to sixth. We will need to go on an amazing run or have other teams screw up for us to get top six.

Based on previous seasons, 38 points is the mark you need to hit for 6th. With how close this season has been, maybe 35 could just sneak in.

There are 10 games left (4 home, 6 away), so probably need to win at least 6 of them.

@ WSW
vs AKL
vs SYD
@ ADL
vs PER
@ BRI
@ MVC
@ MCY
vs WSW
@ MAC

Can rule both those Melbourne games out.

The Nix now is more likely to be in the grand final than wooden spooners.

Serious  money has been splashed by the owners and the side is awash with talent.

The Phoenix have won ZERO out of their last EIGHT finals games, stretching back to 2012. Zero finals wins in 14 years. We aren't making the grand final.

not with that kind of attitude they wont!
god if the players listened to anything close to this kind sort of dross they'd just not bother.

I think there may very well be that attitude entrenched in the Phoenix team culture. How else can you explain such a record?

Assuming a 50% chance of progressing from a finals tie (0.5^7 x 100) would give you a less than 1% chance of failing to progress from 7 in a row.

And if there is such an attitude in the team it certainly isn't my fault. You can blame those responsible for running the club.

that's a very big if!!
but if I can't blame you for said attitude then you just as equally cant criticise/blame me or anyone else for accepting that minimum standards of 6th being set by the club.
