I never said Ivan was the only ASB Premiership player who could play in the A-League.

I realise that now. Apologies. You said Auckland City players right? Still I do think a number of them could compete/do well in the A-League
is no one interested in buying us out if Terry goes bust?

Yeah perhaps Morgan would come in if Terry was willing to sell the whole thing, but untill then I doubt many people would ewant to effectively be business partners with him
Remember the license and authority to run the club is not actually Terry's to sell.Terry could sell the company that runs the Phoenix, if any one wanted to buy it.
Looking at the recent past -Jets- there seemed to be a definite process.
The FFA took the license off previous owner Con Constantine ( who was in serious financial difficulties that threatened the viablity of the club) and announced that Nathan Tinkler had stepped in as the new owner.
This process may vary slightly given FootballNZ hold the license, but essentially its likely something similar would happen.
I hope it doesn't come to this and Terry can sort it.., we will see.
I would be surprised if interested parties hadn't already contacted NZF and/or the FFA and that, if Terry's negotiations are not successful, these step forward.
Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Well, that would be a first for the A-League- a well funded and well run team!
Could we worry about that for the other 10/11 teams first? Expecting local millionaires to run football so we have something to do at the weekends is not viable- it's suicidal.
When even the Roar is f**ked to the extent of $1.5m AU - something is very, very wrong with the A-League indeed.
[QUOTE=Hard News]This.
Crucial the FFA sort the business model out for the survival of all clubs ..and the A-League itself. Lots of talk about this since WC bid debacle for a complete re-focus.The health of the game in Australia and by extension NZ is impacted by it.Needs addressing.

The doom post article said this, dont know if its true or not.
To get in an Aussie team though Mulligan comes in as an import. That means he has to be considered good enough to take an import spot, and they tend to hold on to those for what are thought to be top line players (yes I know there are examples of import donkeys, but it is the principle, not the practice I am talking about)
Wheras lots of the Aussie players in the squads are journeymen, and Mulligan wouldnt look out of place amongst them.

Hey we're pretty good, Antarctic Confederation Champions in fact

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Give it to Christchurch if there has to be another one. Just can you both please play some preseason games up here?
Every team in the world should have a route to the Club World Cup, so how does this Antarctic team qualify?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Sorry, Auckland born and bred. Apart from two formative years spent in the city of Thames.
He is about to unveil his team*

Not conclusive. Because that's the way it is (shock, horror, Wiki could be right). Proximity is pretty much a must have - and in A-League terms, you could argue a case for the Kiwi-Derby. Appears though that in modern usage, rivalry and derby get confused,
Always quite liked the concept of the Perth-Phoenix anti-derby. But it never caught on.
I know, I know, its serious!
Oh FFS. It wud be derby. I can't stand Auckland.

And I would also keep on supporting the NIX. But a derby would be cool to. I know how much you Wellingtonians hate us JAFFAS
ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH
Back on subject, I'd rather take a million or two from the FIFA Club World Cup each year and feed it back to the grass roots and out to the Islands.
Long term growing the Pacific and NZ is my priority, rather than losing $2 million a year in Oz.

Two years in Thames and I hate JAFFAS.
