Another one made themselves "famous " for doing F all. Glad not im not one of those who likes to be "influenced" by no bodies.
He actually seems to do a lot of work Steve. No different to celebrities of old, just different media and subject matter these days.

You used to have to at least be a comedian, newsreader, ex-Black Cap or AB with marital issues and a scandal involving some drugs and a classy location to get on Game of Two Halves!

I still remember them singing to the tune of That’s Amore, ‘That’s Parore’ to Matthew Ridge. Cold. Cold.

Big difference from celebrities of old yep get the different media styles these days. But come on most of  them seems to declare themselves an influencer then go about trying to get people and businesses to buy into what they are doing. At least most of the  "celebrities of old" actually did something to earn their fame.

Right mate, settle. He’s an entertainer and you’re not his target audience - I’m certainly not either - but don’t be a grump
FFS sake why do people on here always have to jump to a false conclusion. What so you cant express an opinion on here any more without someone putting a label on you. People wonder why the forums are pretty quiet these days with mostly the same people posting all the time. To be honest entertainer is pushing it a self declared influencer probably more accurate good luck to him for getting people to buy into what he does.

Nothing he does will affect your life in any way shape or form so there's little point getting this worked up about him.

Genuine question, but what does he do in terms of content? I'm obviously not the target audience either, but all I've seen are clips of him barking at people or yelling "siu" and it's all a little puzzling.

yeah seems harmless in the grand scheme of things - but it's smart marketing to try and engage a different demographic who might not be so obsessed with football like some of us are.

Gillion and Rogerson are holding them back, both of them are turnover merchants and it stops AFC building sustained pressure. Once they figure that out, and depending how they go with a lot of travel late in the season, I think they'll be well in the title fight.
Don't say that about Liam, he's our special little boy

You only like him cos he plays on the left wing.

It's an interesting one. Bet there's thousands of vloggers out there making money off content filmed in NZ that didn't have this visa either, but at the same time the content he was shooting is much more than your average travel vlog - ultimately he'll probably just get told off and may struggle to come back in without some extra hoops to jump through.

Also I think Immigration NZ are getting a little tougher on breaches of visa's with the new regime. Increased fees for visa applicants and clearly keeping an closer eye on what people are up to when they are here.

I don’t really watch his stuff, but I’m aware of what he does. It’s a mix of gaming, “irl” streams (which are a popular genre of streaming now where you’re just out and about doing stuff), challenges (eg. attempting 1000+ backflips in 24 hours) and reaction videos.

His selling point is that he’s a character, and he’s carved out a popular niche by aligning himself with football culture and football youtubers.

He's in the similar vein as the Kartrashians. Famous for doing nothing but telling the world about it. He'll get a TV show next. Good luck to him. This 2006 movie was about 20 years ahead of itself. Brilliantly funny, yet so very truthful and factual.

Sorry, this is my hobbyhorse, but I hate that movie because it's pro-eugenics. Its whole premise is that stupid people have stupid kids.

You missed the point of the movie. It was in fact showing you the dumbing down of kids was due to the crap reality shows etc on TV at the time. Sadly, the TV shows mostly shown on TVNZ & TV3 currently, fully endorse what this movie was taking the p--s out of.

No offensive than his other movies premises that people doing manual labour live in a happy utopia without daft colleagues or bosses and that weirdos have red staplers…

It’s a comedy and a parody of now (or rather the 90s). It’s no worse than Eric Carle suggesting a butterfly grows a cocoon around themselves…

Must be due some injuries the Black Knights. They have impressive depth with Randell & Champness not even making match day squads. Neither has Mata this week by the looks.

Wonder what ticket sales are like 🤷‍♂️

They also did a deal the other week that if you bought derby tickets you would get tickets to the Jets game as well - so I'd imagine ticket sales have been a bit low for this one

Very good test on what the base will be.

Some of the port question if a stadium of 18k will be big enough at springs.

That will be more than sufficient for every ausi club and will be evidenced by the rest of the season. Think 10 to 12k will end up being the average for ausi games.

The derby may be the exception but can always be taken to Eden Park.

First season in a city that has apparently wanted a footy club to follow for years is not gong to be a good indicator. They've got a massive hype machine behind them which helps obviously. the real test will be once they've suffered there first loss (which will come) and the first crowd in season 2 if they dont make it out of the finals play offs this season.

Think your 10 to 12k could even be optimistic. Think we all know once the novelty factor wears off and results arnt what  people want to see sadly people will quickly jump off. Really hope they can get to those figures but just dont see it happening once it becomes not the place to be seen.
As Phoenix have found take the team away from home for a few weeks and have mixed results particularly over Summer and people find other things to do.
Certainly wouldnt be building a stadium based on this seasons attendances.

Hard to say what their attendances will be for the rest of the season. They're on a good tear right now and a derby win at home would only serve to add fuel to the fire. Then again, between their 1st and 2nd game they had a 10k drop off which is kinda sad. Like they gave the audience a 2-0 win and they still lost 10k fans?

AFC gear is sold out across the country... that's a positive sign.

I think they will average out around 15k for the season, which if you offered them that at the start I think they'd go - defo.

They have had no time to grow their base over seasons etc.

Sometimes it feels like people are wanting them to fail on here.

Really havnt seen much evidence of people wanting them to fail. Big difference between wanting them to fail and people suggesting they dont get to excited to early given whats happened in the past. No doubt they have had a great start but they have also had a pretty easy draw so far and that new team hype is still up and about. The test will be when things are going against them like weather bad results and team being away for a while.

I don't want them to fail (again). I don't think they will. This club has a more professional approach. Sharkty weather today, maybe only 10k at the game.

Easily 10,000 there, maybe 12,000? The game was almost sold out in advance but I suppose a lot of people bought tickets but didn't show.

A nice game to watch even in pouring rain. AFC defence looked dodgy for the first time this season for about the first 10 minutes, probably due to Sakai's absence. But once again they just wore a team down and took advantage in the last few minutes. De Vries is a giant. Our special boy Liam was fun to watch as usual. And Callan Elliot did an excellent job.
