Agree with the hoops, the QPR kit has always looked one of the best

I don’t want to get into a rugby argument with any feral football supporter, but likewise the old Auckland npc with hoops was awesome

I think that’s where the AKL thread started. I certainly proposed this maybe a couple of times a year or two ago!

This has been said, but the Nix don't have a home kit - they've got two kits and they play 50% of their time in each.

If you don't think a predominantly black kit is Phoenix colours, this was our first home kit:

https://cdn.footballkitarchive.com/2022/11/19/dw0wqwx6v2AGDcL.jpg

If you don't believe the Nix's primary brand colour is yellow, then... well I don't know what to say.

Pretty sure the only reason that shirt came about was because the one that was wanted wasnt one of the manufacturers options. The giveaway is the logo on that shirt and the stripey on it.

Not enough complaining about crowds I'm afraid. All im saying is the brand colours are black and yellow, we've had primarily black kits, we've had primarily yellow kits, we've had stripeys which are both.

I don't know why people care if we play in yellow or black, especially when we're winning. It's bizarre.

Whole page in 2day's Herald by Burgess. Mostly a rehash of Sunday Star Times article. Extras: AKL building own gym at Nth Harbour. They've spoken to "every All White you can imagine  from youngest to the biggest names." Making use of Bournemouth's "large scouting network" to find players for 5 import slots, especially "a striker and a winger". Corica, McFlynn & Kors having twice weekly recruitment meetings  with Foley joining in every fortnight. "He's across everything." Support staff settled on "including two assistant coaches, at least one who'll be a Kiwi",  possibly Danny Hay.

It's not Yellow and Black Fever or little corner of Yellow and Black - that's all I'm saying, you can make an argument that Black is one of the brand colours, but last year we had the same shark with "alternate" kits played at home, except it was blue so I guess black is a step in the right direction.

yellow fever was named and branded before the team, they assumed there'd be yellow in the teams colours but that wasn't certain. Little corner of yellow was likely named after fever. There was another short-lived fan group called Thorndon terrace which wore black.

7 min chat Burgess with Corica.

Confirms 7 players are signed.
Will use all 5 visa spots, and use all those spots that are outside the Cap (Marquee, designated player).
Visa spots - striker, likely a winger. Then wherever there is an identified need.
Lots of Kiwis, and a few Aussies.

So training facility will be at NHS, and not Mt Smart?

Will be very interesting if Hay gets an assistant gig. Will rachet up the derby rivalry!

Are you honestly saying all the fans who want the team to wear a kit with "some yellow" on it at home are wrong? If the current "alternate kit" was black with some yellow I think people would chill a little bit.
If the sponsor has said they only want to be on a black shirt (which I have seen claimed somewhere) then they must be pumping in some serious dollars for the club to agree to this.  I can't really think of this happening in pro football to this extent, League is a shambles with kits so have to exclude them from this.

And that would definitely call for black tops, black shorts, and black wraparound sunnies as  part of the playing kit. Maybe a black Harley too.

Loving the kit mock-ups and wondering if Blackburn Rovers quartered style has been mentioned yet?

QPR seems the obvious choice though, I love the hoops (QPR, Celtic etc).

Oh and if someone with the skills could pop the text for this on as front of shirt sponsor I think we're onto something ...

Maclaren would be a massive signing.

Incidentally hearing that rumour made me look at the list of the top A-League goalscorers. On Wikipedia it has Barbarouses on 87 goals, but by my count he’s on 92. Either way he’s so close to being in the top 4 of all time. May as well crack the 100 while he’s in good form.

Smeltzy got outright brainwashed and ended up standing for Clive Palmer's hard-Right political party. I really hope Bill Foley doesn't have political ambitions in this country.

He was probably the most vocal player about keeping the Nix in the competition when our license was being questioned and said some nice things about the country at the time.

But, he's marquee at Melbourne City and the rumors are that they're trying to pull him under the cap for his next contract, so no doubt he's going where he can stay on marquee wages.

Timing-wise it could make sense - classic case of a marquee-level striker believing they still deserve marquee-level wages, while a club suddenly gets a bit hesitant to continue committing to that once the player is over 30.

Depends who they get around him to push him for his place and what kind of attitude he has.

TBH we’ve never had a club with top 4 type expectations or pitfalls.
