I know the VAR only played in a few games, but he did really well and scored 3 goals for Sydney. Thought deserved at least a bench spot.

It makes sense because the FFA have proven incapable of booking a venue - even when it's been obvious for half a season that one team is going to win the competition. Of course what makes more sense is for the teams to organise and profit from their own finals.

Plus both those competitions started as state-based comps and became national comps later, so there's history behind it too. Again, the A League doesn't have that

Well, 40% of A-League teams are in Sydney.

What they need to do though is just book stadiums earlier, if they book a stadium in Sydney and a stadium Melbourne then they're going to be able to host then they're going to have at least a 60% chance that a team from one of those cities (or adjacent) are going to be able to play there.

Sure, I meant NSW obviously. The point is that the CCM is pretty much in Sydney, the Jets are a bit further away but still has public transport links to Sydney.

Also an issue this year because they weren't organised. They should book the venue for the entire weekend of a final, they make so much money from it that they can wear the extra cost. Maybe make a festival of football sort of thing over a couple of days.

So, statstically, we should have an A-league grand final in NSW 40% of the time. But that doesn't mean that the A-league grand final should always be in Sydney.

I would trust the FFA to book the venue for the game to be scheduled 24 hours after a Rugby Union or Rugby League had been played on it. They have already shown this ability.

Yet how many people were there at Sydney matches during the regular season? They're lucky Melbourne Victory were in the final this year, otherwise you would have seen blue seats popping up everywhere

Imagine Glory V City being played at Allianz.

Apparently he's a comedian and that's his act. The problem that sort of thing only works if people know about it, otherwise it's sort of an in joke to his audience with everyone else mistified.
