Melbourne City FC - Just another Pissant Town?

Prediction:

Villa's 10 games will be against -

Melbourne Victory x 2 (home and away)

Sydney x 2 (home and away)

WSW x 2 (home and possibly away)

Brisbane x 2 (home and away)

The other two games to be Adelaide and CCM in Melbourne.

The Nix, Perth and Jets won't play Melbourne City during that time.

If the FFA really want to take the piss they might even squeeze a third Melbourne derby in and/or an extra home game against WSW.

Will last three games and then will get injured.  But he will play gorgeous football.

Seriously think this could be close. Though Perth rather than CCM. We have no show... unless #YFspendup gets us a big name marquee.

They still have the Marquee spot open too.

Duff.

Reports on twitter saying he'll be squeezed in the cap

To the people who say VILLA is past his prime. Nonsense. If he was, he wouldn't be at the world cup.

Villa is hardly in his 'prime' anymore; but will still do well. (i'd prob still take him at Arsenal)

Was jealous until I realised it was only for a 10 game stint, which I still think are pointless.

In this case it isn't pointless for Villa. He needs somewhere to play until 2015.

Well, technically he is past his prime - his goal return and impact in matches is not what it was a few seasons ago but he is still operating at a very high level, just not quite as high as he has done in the past.

This signing gives me a semi.

Excited to see him in the A League. This sort of signing, loan or not will only help raise the profile of the A League world wide and that can only be a good thing.

Just a shame we wont get to see him come up against Siggy!

Hopefully Villa tells his mate Xavi to give this guest stint a try too.

Three for me, and two for them.

Exponentially better than their old turd of a logo. Also reminiscent of old Manchester City logos/crests/badges. Sort of.

Maybe the out of court settlement offer can be David Villa for 10 games?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

I'm usually very cynical about the guest/marquee slots, but this really is massive for the league.  Kits and logo look good, and along with this signing, it all gives MCFC a huge credibility boost at their launch.

Yes great to see this sort of quality in the A league.

Though rather not see him against an agricultural player like Siggy.

There is only two results.

Villa gets injured by a hack or Siggy gets buried.

Neither is a good look for WPFC or the A league

The Adelaide Rnd 9 game is between Rnd 23 & 24, so WSW in Rnd 11 get a chance to play against Villa.

Year Ned Kelly put his head in a bucket.

Actually, year Melbourne was declared a City (by permission of Queen Victoria).

The year Melbourne was granted City status it looks.

I would have gone for something relating to the 'Heart of the City' tag that has been floating around their fans myself.

Sounds like City need him to meet the home grown rules for UEFA Comps.

Or he still want to play for England and thinks he has a better chance by staying there.
