So, what you're saying is, there's no Serbs, Slovenes or Macedonians in the Elrich/Pav crime syndicate?

I think we're all assuming that this isn't self-inflicted.

I would have thought the tone of the release which was pretty unsympathetic indicates this could well be the opposite.

I don't like the tone of the release. "Until it has been resolved" makes it sound like a disciplinary issue, which doesn't add up with  "medical condition". A medical condition is not something that you resolve, it is something that you heal.

Either tell us the facts or don't send out a release. To me this smells like someone in Phoenix management scoring a point in a personal battle - a lack of integrity here.

I stand corrected. Still, poorly communicated.

Yeh, FFA would need to clear the injury situation to allow an injury/medical replacement option to be available.
If the injury is in any way personal, get it out of the way in a bland statement.  No further questions to be answered with the media.  And once you've thought up one bland statement, just keep on using it.

Anyway, all the best to Pav.  Not my favourite player, but always entertaining.  Don't we just wish no-one ever got sick or injured.

Agree with NZP here as his own mental and physical illnesses have never stopped him from trying to play ;)

It is a shame when a young player faces a situation like this, however I do agree that he never really stood out much as a player. Hopefully Pav can spend some time recovering and come back better and make a real go of it.

Ha! Yeah my mental and physical issues have never stopped me from playing.... A few divisions higher than you... and for a few seasons!!

Can't believe you - the son of a Nz youth rep, who can barely juggle the ball is giving me shit!!

:)

He fully did something to piss someone off. "We wish him the best in his football career"

He was never wanted this season. Good to get him off our books. Give that cash to players who deserve it.

Permalink Permalink

As much as we like to bag him, it's unfortunate that a player leaves under circumstances like this where nobody will admit to what has happened

Permalink Permalink

Not commenting on the reasons why or anything off the pitch other than what he did on it Ard Right. From that stand point, we are justified to rejoice cause he was a rubbish footballer.

He was getting good reviews from his spell in the NSWPL, maybe he enjoyed being back in a familiar environment. Will be interesting to see if he ends up training with the Wanderers.

He is not a rubbish footballer, just wasnt cutting it at this level.

Good luck to him

Interestingly that it was by mutual consent, which means that Pav could have forfeited some if not all of his remaining contract. Any payout that he may have received would still be included towards the salary cap for the period of his contract. Also, if he was truly unavailable due to injury or medical condition, as let on by the Phoenix, I'm sure that some sort of insurance would cover Pav's contract which could be used on an injury replacement if need be. Anyway Pav would have not been a great cost, maybe insurance premiums at most, to the Phoenix while he was unavailalbe due to a medical condition.

Same thing? I mean sure there have been some talented footballers who have looked crap until they have "adjusted" but that is not the case here.
So what is the difference between consistently "not cutting it" and just being rubbish?

I was thinking about that listening to the radio. He scored 2 goals in 25 games but I think only a couple were the full 90. I would not even call him good enough to have been an impact sub. Totori is basically a straight swap for him. Maybe Ricki has a soft spot for crap footballers.

Was also thinking that now he is no longer one of us, then perhaps it is now ok to speculate. I know 2B warned off it but he is not with us anymore and is no different that a player at Melbourne, or Perth etc...

So Doloras, not tempted to have a go at some Mirjan Pavlovic/Sam Worthington real person slash fiction then?

I'll get us started...

Mirjan gently wiped away the cocaine residue from Sam's top lip and pulled him into a passionate embrace.

Sam sighed and whispered "not so fast my Slavic prince" as he internalised a really complicated situation in his head.

I've hidden a couple of post that contain speculation. Clearly it is a private matter so think we all should respect that.

Quite a bit I suggest. So you are good at the level below this (Aust League) but cant make it here. That doesnt make you "rubbish." Says more about the writer in my view, and kicking a man when he is down

This. Ive come to know Mirjan quite well over the last couple of years and out of respect for all parties involved, and particularly the man himself, we need to leave this matter alone. Rumors will only do more harm than good. Cheers

This. Clearly he isn't rubbish, it's like the theory I've heard before, if Pav went to your school he'd most likely be one of the best players in school history. Failing in the A-League doesn't mean that you're terrible, you've done extremely well to get to that point to begin with.

Rumours definitely won't help
Facts would clear everything up though

Hmm except this is an A league team fan forum. So in this context you can say he is rubbish.
