Unless we want to start banning/ removing a comment whenever we refer to a player as a donkey or thug because be don't actually know jack shit or know the players personally.

I dont think he had a medical condition that pervented him from playing football persoanlly

Call players what you will, donkey, thug...whatever. Its an opinion. But when people start saying shit like "this guy thinks hes too good", then thats just making shit up.

that is my opinion.

so it's fine then?

Dont waste your time in here AJ13, all these guys need telling off too;

No reason at all why we can't speculate.

I fear it is something less scandalous unfortunately... my two cents said he hated it here, he thinks he's better than he is, so he expected more opportunity from Ricki but didn't get it. He enjoyed chilling with his mates and banging about in Sydney, so he rang up and said I don't wanna come back. Phoenix p*ssed off but happy they don't have to pay him anymore, contract terminated, and also explains the nature of the released statements. Win/win for both parties then?

No reason at all why we can't speculate you say? You need look no further than your own shite you continued on with - which is exactly why we shouldnt speculate (ie. being completely and utterly incorrect).

Have some respect and show some compassion ffs. What kind of a supporter are you anyway making these kinds of assumptions of a player without knowing jack shit? A player you dont even personally know, yet you attack his character and integrity? Youre a disgrace.

Just tell us already, Mirjan!

And what are these 'deformation' laws I am hearing about...?!

I suggested two medical conditions that Pav might have, and my post got hidden. I don't see how either of those were defamatory. Having an illness isn't like being a shoplifter.

Just reframe your post as slash fiction and you can pretty much say what you want.

Celebrities and politicians are up for personal attacks and speculation constantly. I would say the same goes for pro footballers. Certainly attacks are a bit not-in-keeping-with-the-spirit of the forum but we have made observations of in a variety of settings so no reason not to extrapolate grand theories Pavs personality based on the way he walks or something.

It cracks me up that no-one minds when we attack players performances when they are playing for us but if they leave under unknown circumstances then its no longer OK or something.

I do like how lots of speculation (including my own) includes addiction and mental issues and club-player conflict despite the fact that it could be something as innocuous as Glandular Fever or something.

How is attacking a players on field performance (which is one of the things a forum exists for) even remotely similar to trying to make up stories as to how this all happened? Lol at people who claim their right to stir shit based on zero facts

hmm yeah but also people are called c*nts and all other such abuse based nothing at all on their footballing abilities and no one seems to mind.

I think you are probably a little too close to the issue and are taking a bit too much offense.

One way to put it all to rest would be to give us an idea about what the issue was.
If someone in the know told us that he has a legitimate medical issue, or a mental health problem - then I think we'd all respect it.

"The Phoenix released a statement on saying the 23-year-old Croatia-born footballer has a medical condition which restricts his ability to play professional soccer.

The club says it will make no further comment until the condition is resolved.

It is understood the condition is not football related, but no further information is available."

I'm sorry the club didn't use the word 'legitimate', but either you take it at face value or you don't.

Im more speculating as to whether he was released because of his medical condition or not. The release when he was released didnt even acknowledge this medical condition - so I personally want to know if he is going to get better or if his career is over and he has retired.

We got nowhere near enough information from the club, so we try and speculate

glandular fever's not a bad guess to be fair asmodeus

also PWF makes a good point, it does sound like AJ13 is a little closer to the issue and therefore a bit over-sensitive about it. I can understand that

The last one said "we wish him well in his career" which I found odd. Plus it just seemed so cold.

I equate them on the grounds of end result but I probably misunderstand you. I thought your opposition to this kind of speculation was the effect on the player as at the end of the day its all something that could be taken offensively. But I see its something based in principle. Regardless examples of how performance speculation lends itself to wild speculation to stir the pot:

Example A: "Pav was shite when came on today, has two left feet" Becomes: "Pav was fired from the club for having two left feet"
Example B: "That tackle from Pav was crazy - he got the red mist" Becomes: "Pav has left because he's Bi-Polar or something"

Personally I do claim the right stir shit based on zero facts because there are zero facts. If we knew the situation I'm sure we would talk about that (with a few jests) relatively accurately. But we don't, we know nothing so everything is on the table and wild speculation ensues. If we were talking nonsense in abject disregard of the facts then I might agree with you, no-one likes disinformation. But there are no facts so we go town, not saying there's any merit in it but why not?
I mean really at this point we're not even talking about Pav, we are talking about a caricature that has emerged from personality traits mentioned on the forum based on individual impressions of him at games and his posture and whatnot.
There's probably like 3 people on the whole forum who have passed him on the street one time. That is all our collective knowledge about Pav the person and even less about the present the situation.

But lack of facts never get in the way of a good yarn. And I like yarn.

AJ13, you obviously feel very strongly about this issue,  but, with you coming back so voiciforously about other peoples comments & calling them "a disgrace", you are adding fuel to the fire. If you let it go (not that I can tell you what to do) , the topic will die down.
Personally I don't give a toss why he's gone, if he has issues that he needs sorting out, I hope he can get them sorted & I wish him all the best.
Pretty soon most of us will have forgotten about "Mad Dog"  ( & yes, I have called him that for a long time) because he never really contributed much on the field. Fact.

I think those who are 'protecting' him on here, including the mods, know the full story and think whatever it is should be kept quiet.

For me I only really cared about what was going on when he was no where to be seen during pre-season when he was clearly on the books. Now that he's gone I couldn't care less. Good luck to him but I think we're better off now and should just put it behind us.

I dont think anyone on here actually do know the full story, otherwise they would tell us what areas were sensitive so we could avoid them

Okay I guess because you guys usually are in the know which is sometimes for the better when moderating these forums that it might have been the case here. Nothing wrong with playing it safe either though with something like this.
