Celebrities and politicians are up for personal attacks and speculation constantly. I would say the same goes for pro footballers. Certainly attacks are a bit not-in-keeping-with-the-spirit of the forum but we have made observations of in a variety of settings so no reason not to extrapolate grand theories Pavs personality based on the way he walks or something.
It cracks me up that no-one minds when we attack players performances when they are playing for us but if they leave under unknown circumstances then its no longer OK or something.
I do like how lots of speculation (including my own) includes addiction
and mental issues and club-player conflict despite the fact that it
could be something as innocuous as Glandular Fever or something.
How is attacking a players on field performance (which is one of the things a forum exists for) even remotely similar to trying to make up stories as to how this all happened? Lol at people who claim their right to stir shit based on zero facts
I equate them on the grounds of end result but I probably misunderstand you. I thought your opposition to this kind of speculation was the effect on the player as at the end of the day its all something that could be taken offensively. But I see its something based in principle. Regardless examples of how performance speculation lends itself to wild speculation to stir the pot:
Example A: "Pav was shite when came on today, has two left feet" Becomes: "Pav was fired from the club for having two left feet"
Example B: "That tackle from Pav was crazy - he got the red mist" Becomes: "Pav has left because he's Bi-Polar or something"
Personally I do claim the right stir shit based on zero facts because there are zero facts. If we knew the situation I'm sure we would talk about that (with a few jests) relatively accurately. But we don't, we know nothing so everything is on the table and wild speculation ensues. If we were talking nonsense in abject disregard of the facts then I might agree with you, no-one likes disinformation. But there are no facts so we go town, not saying there's any merit in it but why not?
I mean really at this point we're not even talking about Pav, we are talking about a caricature that has emerged from personality traits mentioned on the forum based on individual impressions of him at games and his posture and whatnot.
There's probably like 3 people on the whole forum who have passed him on the street one time. That is all our collective knowledge about Pav the person and even less about the present the situation.
But lack of facts never get in the way of a good yarn. And I like yarn.
