They were able to sign players outside the cap for the ACL games last season, wonder if they will look at short term deals for some Aussies who get released in Asia during January to boost their squad for the ACL.

Bit of Twitter rage about 'WSW glorifying streaking' with this

Personally I think its rather funny, maybe i'm getting soft in my old age
Don't see much wrong with that. People are so desperate to be offended by anything these days.
Three for me, and two for them.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. As much as I hate to admit it, it;s really quite clever!
Western Sydney fans have their reasons for disliking Abbas as classless as that was. Not sure what they have against Arnold though.

Which are?
and are those reasons big enough to justify being glad he is severely injured and to hope he has a slow and painful recovery? I doubt it somehow.

He accused Santalab of racism in last year's derby. No evidence supporting his story was ever provided.
doesn't that just provide further motive for them to want to take him out in this game? Plus the whole high 5/handshake thing afterward.
Even forgetting all that, it's hardly a reason for the RBB to publicly celebrate him receiving such a serious injury.

Agree Tegal. It's ok to dislike someone 'as a player on the field' but beyond that....
Grumpy old bastard alert
That is poor.
I do notice in the comments they have a grammar correcter, and someone protesting the post.
Their forum is in melt down mode atm. Good reading.
Only caught the end of the game last night but did notice they seem to be moving away from what worked for them in the past, less defend & counter and more possession play. I wonder if Poppa is trying to re-invent them?
combination of :
- shoot farken
- the ref robbed us
- why the rotation business
and thrown in some saying they left after 81 minutes in disgust.

This is the sort of thing which pisses fans off. The club clearly needs the money to do other things with. Just getting the team to the Club World Cup has already cost the Wanderers thousands of dollars. Think about the air flights but also the lost ticket revenue from having to play more mid week games which draw lower attendances. If the players play well then they are likely to get a good deal somewhere else and get rewarded that way.
it is a fair call that the players have an increased workload because of the tournament though. Think they're allowed to be compensated. Sounds like the club aren't even interested in negotiations or even arbitration, which seems quite off.

Well, both Dura and Kosta have tweeted in solidarity with the WSW players. Good enough for me. ¡Viva la revolución!, down with the blackleg and workers unite, etc.
Ramming liberal dribble down your throat since 2009
This forum needs less angst and more Kate Bush threads
So the CBA says players get 50% of prize money for winning the ACL but because it doesn't cover the CWC, WSW's owners only are offering 10%

WSW have two red cards and a bucketful of yellows. Do these carry over to the A-League?

How the Club World Cup can be played on a pitch like that I do not know. Western Sydney deserved to lose. Topor-Stanley was unlucky but they were already down to 10 players and probably would have lost anyway.
Topor-Stanley sent off two games in a row. Two yellows in last A League Match and sent after 17 mins

But are there only two stadiums in Morocco? Why could the game not be played in Marrakesh? Are there not 100's of countries throughout the world which have stadiums which can deal with holding two games back to back? Westpac Stadium can do it.
The game was a disgrace and should have been played the next day at a different stadium.
Club is taking it well
Didn't they win with the ACL with farcical refereeing?
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
"Being a Partick Thistle fan sets you apart. It means youre a free thinker. It also means your team has no money." Tim Luckhurst, The Independent, 4th December 2003
The refereeing was farcical but it hardly inhibited WSW. If NTS had not been shown a yellow card than Spiranovic would have seen a second yellow instead and been sent off even earlier than he was.
Welcome to wild windy wonderful Welly Western Wanderers
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Ha ha, but if we get wild, windy and wet Wellington we are not going to get much of a crowd.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Laughed like hell when I saw that last night. Would have only been better if he needed treatment afterwards!
Would make a good signature
