I think he wants a head job. Not sure he is suitable for one though.

Zadkovich to Perth?

Confirmed on a 3 year deal. He was reported as being on 220k at the Jets but they wouldnt extend his contract to match the 3 years Glory offered. So that answers what 220k gets you in the A-League.

Now linked with Sydney.

Andy Keogh - Not a prolific striker, but he has had a couple good years.

Still has prem experience and is under 30... a good signing and another suggestion that the A League is becoming more attractive.

Haven't seen much of him but his record looks very Ifill like but without the injuries. Could be a good pick up.

Sounds like Damien Duff on a 2 year contract to Melbourne Heart/City is a done deal.

These are some good experienced signings - quite exciting.  We're clearly looking in a different market which I find a little depressing

Yes but guys like Damian Duff will be tagged as a marquee. When you have a marquee spot that you use, you can afford anyone because there is no restriction on cost. We don't use that marquee spot, thus.......

Christ! He'll rip up a few defences!

He's 35 years old and made 11 appearances last year in a team that got relegated. No thanks.

He was a class player last year, haven't seen much of this year, but unless he is injured he will definitely be the best player on show.

Stubbins has said the Jets are on the verge of signing a Latin American striker.

"A deal is being negotiated with a player from South America who we believe fits the bill for us," said Stubbins.

"We have a couple of little hurdles in dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s to overcome but hopefully that’s a formality and we will be in position to announce something very soon.

"He has played for his national team at an early age and is from a country doing good things and he would be a good, solid signing for us.

Damian Duff will carve up the A-League

Whenever someone says this....It never comes true. He's one player. More likely is he'll grab a few goals then get injured for the rest of the season.

Carl Valeri for MV is a far better signing. Good player.

A huge star coming to the A-league next season.

Adam Peacock @adampeacock3

Big @aleague news about to hit. Yes, that's like "I heard this great joke" then not telling it, but trip to Brazil canned if I #peacockleak

Hearing Melbourne Victory have received a $1million offer for Mark Milligan..and this time they will take it.

Guess that explains the Valeri signing

Sounds like its David Villa on a 10 game guest stint & Duff to sign for City. Also Victory to sign Bresciano with the Milligan transfer fee.

If Victory want to compete next season then they need someone like Bresciano to replace Troisi. Probably someone better than Bresciano actually.

Only a 10 game stint where he will probably just be coming for a holiday.

Can you imagine Siggy defending Villa?

Villa going to the wc then to melb shart. I hope he makes an impact, but a 10 game stint? Not sure how much of one he will have. Though I am still very excited about seeing him play.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Considering how little 'identity' Melbourne Heart had, signing David Villa for 10 games will give them huge public interest and therefore result in more fans. Money talks, but it's a very, very good move for Melbourne City.

Name dropping galore in this article.

Foreign legion to target A-League after World Cup

Eto'o, Lugano, Rodriguez, Wright-Phillips, Benayoun, Dunn all looking for A-League clubs.

While Dylan McGowan is expected to join Adelaide and former Socceroo Adrian Madaschi is expected to join Newcastle.

As much as I would like to see David Dunn here, his injuries make him a serious risk for anyone picking him up.
