Been thinking for years that they keep getting older & slower but still seem to do well, obviously experience is more important in the a-League than young legs.

Meanwhile, defender Daniel Alessi faces an uncertain future at the Jets.

The 19-year-old, who returned from a knee reconstruction for the Youth team against Maitland last month, has a year remaining on his contract but has been given permission to talks to other clubs.

It's relative though - their once dominant squad just gets less and less competitive. They started at a high point but don't look like reaching that again.

Interesting that McGree isn't listed as a Adelaide player at the bottom of the article. Guess his move overseas is going to happen.

Easy fix, get his sister to take on an admin job at the club and have Roma pay her directly or should CCM pay her and she pay Roma. Ask the Irishman at Perth how to work it out.

Greek international and former AEK Athens attacker Christos Avaridis, 30, is an option.

Alexander Merkel, 25 — a Kazakhstan-born midfielder — who played for Germany’s national underage teams is another A-League prospect.

IN the most stunning about-face in A-League history, Socceroo James Troisi re-signed with Melbourne Victory on Wednesday night.

The Herald Sun understands Troisi completed a medical with City on Monday and was set to sign a contract to become the club’s second marquee player on Wednesday, but never fronted to its Bundoora headquarters.

Instead he met with Victory officials, where a two-year contract was formalised, with the club’s interest heightened after losing Marco Rojas.

The deal is expected to be announced as early as Thursday.
