Brisbane Roar can confirm its interest in re-signing former club captain Matt McKay.

McKay has returned to his hometown of Brisbane after his contract with Chinese Super League club Changchun was mutually terminated late last month.

“We’ve heard the calls from our members and our supporter groups to bring Matt McKay back to the club,” Managing Director Sean Dobson said.

“At Brisbane Roar, we believe the Australian marquee spot on our playing roster should be filled by a player who our fans are proud to see wearing our orange jersey.

Guess they wont admit they have spent their cap and it is the only way they can sign him.

If they have spent their entire cap then they may be in trouble again this year...

Get the impression they may be talking him up so that the league accept him as worthy of the marquee title

Adelaide United FC can confirm it has given permission for defender Iain Fyfe to enter discussions with an Iranian club.

"Iain has received a very good offer and we have agreed to allow him to travel there to further those discussions,” Adelaide United General Manager of Football Operations, Michael Petrillo said.

Information on the club and the negotiations will remain confidential until any further developments eventuate.

Fyfe will depart for Iran tonight.

CCM says it is just training, but it will be a trial. They will hope he attracts enough interest to sell him. I didn't realise he was 22, thought he was 18-19. He is a pretty decent player but you would hope he could hold down a starting spot at that age.

SST last night reckon Vukovic has put in 3 requests this month to be released, so he can move back yo Sydney. I find this strange, as they were reporting that the Glory were trying to shop him around.

Talk of a young Aussie who had been over in South America, Rashid Mahazi signing with the Victory. He played a trial game with Heart a few weeks ago.

I get a feeling SST make a lot of stuff up.

Did SST happen to say "my balls my word" when they made the announcement?

The show is just one big self promotion but they have way more hits than misses. Gotta still take everything with a pinch of salt.

When I look at that in and out list, i do get excited. Granted that may change once we see what they can do but we have cut out the driftwood for better pieces. Would still like to keep Lochhead.

I think if I revisited this post in 6 months time I may feel different but there is optimism.

Speculation that a Jets player is trialling with the Roar, possibly Kantarovski. Was suggested its a injury replacement for Lambadaridis but I can't see how its 'exceptional circumstances'. Find it strange GVE would let Kantarovski go, if it is him.

Geez, judging by some of the comments you would think Reddy kicks babies. Seeing a side of CCM fandom I hadn't before, some self entitlement for one.

Rashad Mahazi pulled from Northcote's game against Benteigh on Fri.  Heart or Victory must have him. One of the best youngsters in this years VPL.  This is the type of played we should be scouting.

I'm sure Ernie is thinking the same thing - Zullo is pretty crap defensively but suits the whole 'full-backs with pace' thing that he has been pushing for.

We are all writing Caira off far too early for me.

But yes Zullo would have been good!

According to Soccer Stoppage Time he's not really even a left back. Hence my worry

Haven't exactly been glowing endorsements pre-season either.

On Zullo - is Cassio still at Adelaide? If so, bit of a strange signing unless theyre playing him further up the pitch?
