Yeah thats true, wow they really are building quite a formidable squad. If this brazilian striker turns out good then they really could be dangerous

Melbourne Heart have a great squad, much better than what Gold Coast. It really pisses me off that they have the same strip (nearly) as my second favourite club Tromso IL though, if I ever wear it people will think I heart Melbourne.

Might be a bit older but scored 4 times in the Europa League this season and 15 goals in 27 games in 09/10 in the Eredivisie. Would be very surprised if he didn't do well - is basically a much better credentialed Van Dijk.

Heart are certainly getting a pretty scary squad together.valeo2010-05-21 17:12:08

I got a real shock when I heard the Heart had signed Sibon. I thought he'd retired years ago! Seems a lifetime ago he was at Sheffield Wednesday when they were a Premier League side...

NICK Carle could be unveiled as a Sydney FC player this afternoon after Crystal Palace agreed to waive a transfer fee for the Australian international.

The midfielder, who joined the Eagles from Bristol City for around 1 million two years ago, has been allowed to move Down Under for nothing despite having another two years left to run on his contract with Palace.

Palace are trying to trim their wage bill with the consortium aiming to buy the club, CPFC 2010, unwilling to fund the Eagles through the rest of the administration process until a deal with creditors has been agreed.

Getting Carle off the payroll will ease the financial burden slightly and reports in Australia claim the player has already signed a three-year deal with Sydney, worth more than 1.1 million.

The 28-year-old became one of three players dropped from Australia's provisional World Cup squad yesterday by coach Pim Verbeek.

Actually incorrect. It is not a signing announcement but a player announcement. Could well be Muscat retiring.simon_hampton2010-06-07 12:43:18

I waited quite a while for that announcement.
I was hoping for a big signing.

At least the A-league has its villain to hate for another year.

On another note.

I will also not be retiring this year.

Hmm. 11 Clubs in the past 10 years.
Looks like he has plenty of experience behind him though.
Could be a good signing for GCU.

Tranmere's Gareth Edds to Fury, really thought this guy could have ended up at the nix as one of Greenies "mates" who were keen to come down. In saying that though he probably meant the league as a whole not just the Phoenix. Seems like a decent signing.

Chris Payne has also been handed a contract by the Fury, along with Togo international Eric Akoto

Youngster to SFC

Highly-rated teenager Terry Antonis could line up against his idol and mentor Tim Cahill in his first match after becoming Sydney FC'S youngest ever signing.

Antonis, 16, described by Socceroo superstar Cahill as "one of the rising stars of Australia", inked a three-year contract on Monday with the A-league champions.

Looked on the Jets forums, to see what they make of the new signings, someone had found an article saying the Italian got a trial based on a youtube clip, pretty sure this is the one:

Im waiting for it to load atm, 10 mins worth of his 'best' plays.
