Success for Ufuk = Reach A league playoffs (Without telling the team your leaving and then losing 4 out of your last 5 games).

Aims - beat Adelaide in Adelaide and Perth in Perth and retain fortress Westpac. Thatd be fairly successful.

Shouldnt that be return to fortress Westpac. Dont think we are there yet.

they said our departing goal keepers was two years as well

and that Rudans was two years without mentioning the 8 week "either party can get rid of the other on a whim clause"

I wish Dome one day would be interviewed by someone who cares about this club to explain the logic behind that contractual decision

What difference does it make?

Football contracts are a made up thing that almost never represents how long a player or coach will actually be at a club.

Length of contract only indicates the compensation package or transfer fee.

Is there a transfer fee for coaches to other A-League clubs?

When a person is under contract, compensation MAY be sought if one party breaks that contract. Effectively this is what a transfer fee is; an agreed sum to break the contract, or 'transfer' the rights to the new entity. In the case of a coach it just generally isn't called a transfer fee since they come under different rules to players as far as the governing body is concerned.

Do we have any feel on Mr Talay's view of giving youth players opportunities?

Where did they say Kurto was on a two year deal?

He was U17 and U20 national coach, I guess he knows some players from that time. He should be also able to find and foster young talent. Ee are well stacked with young players, we need some players in their prime.

Pretty sure that's how it was reported at the time, even though it turned out to be a 1+1 kind of deal.

Yeah.  One year?  What sort of negative, loser, no future dumb tenure is that?

Is it just so he can't quit after a season like his mate?

The club said it's two years.

Didn't they say that about Rudan's?

Aussies age group teams haven't been all that successful since moving to the AFC, so I dunno if that is a good thing or not.

Poor guy. Imagine if one of us went to coach in a country where our first name sounded like the local language for "your mother blows goats".

He was born in Aussie. It's not like he grew up in Turkey and suddenly found when he went abroad it was a problem.

He's OK with the fact that his parents did not call him Johnny otherwise he'd have changed it.  All power to him. He's already been through kindy, primary and high school in south-west Sydney so it's not like he has not heard it all before, unlike the Kiwi public who continues to be cheerfully amused by the existence of non-English speaking world in English speaking countries.

I think you will find that once he starts the job and shows any ability,  then fans will give up on it. I really hope he does well. Manages to convince certain players to stay and build on the current season.

Sorry dont think it should require any level of doing well for any one to give up on it.Frankly time that happened already think it would be a nice show of respect if we all just moved on.Gets pretty tiresome when you have a name that leads itself to puns.Would be okay if occasionally someone came up with something original but  seems to be the same old stuff all the time.

He's originally from Sydney no?

I think he would be good in a coaching capacity , and with the club having invested in him already for this, it would e disappointing to see him go.
