no idea about actual legitimacy - but wouldn't it make sense for both WU and Dura?

Dura has a job lined up at the Phoenix and can pretty much decide when he retires here though.

What job?

besides why would he leave when his family are settled here?

because he said on Phoenix City a while ago that once he finished playing if he didn't get a coaching job with the Nix he'd most likely head back to Sydney as his extended family are all over there

Have heard pretty reliable chat of an offer he's considering that isn't in NZ or Australia to extend his playing career. 

Why would Rudan do that, or rather, why would West Melbourne Bogans be prepared to pay one penny for Dura?

And he can build a team kulcha

What, even with Filip Kurto, David Williams, Max Burgess, and Roy Krishna?

More seriously, Dura is old and slow (by his own previous standards) now, and I'm sure he understands that if he ends his playing days at the Nix he'll be a hero forever.

He'll be a hero here forever regardless.

Think Dolores was (perhaps churlishly) suggesting that all those four players will be at WU next season.

You'd think Kurto and Burgess for sure

She was, and I'm saying she's being too pessimistic (again), because I doubt all 4 of them will be.

My comment that (I thought she was) responding to was about WU needing experienced players, within which Maxy Burgess was included. He's good, but he's not an "experienced A-League player". 

I don't think all of them will be at WU. But pretty likely that none of them will be at the Nix. 

Williams is probably the best chance of being a Nix player next season.

Whilst I've conceded we'll lose some players to WU I actually don't see a mass exodus. We've already locked in a few players for the next/last season. Hopefully Ufuk is gathering the players around and getting them to buy into his plans. Kurto is gone, but interestingly enough there's been no announcement from WU that they have him, nothing re any of the other players either - just rumours and innuendo. We are just working ourselves up into some kind of stressed out panic squad buying into the doom and gloom. Lets try and remain a little bit positive, we've had a resurgent season, shown some fight. Some of our players have been the best of the league. Why can't we hold onto them? I'm sure Welnix are doing what they can.

Phoenix awards this week some time I believe. I expect Rudan will announce his next destination after that. Otherwise it will be an uncomfortable night for him.

The awards are next week iirc.

Talay is only 43, could become a player manager to get us up to 8.

Based previous snippet's from Nelfoos's workplace, Dura won't be going to Newcastle that's for sure.

I'm use to us not having a squad until the last minute.

Durante's re-signing was announced on May 17, the same day as Cacace's signing. At that stage the club had the following players on its books.

GK Sail, Smith

DF Cacace, Durante, Doyle, Fenton, Fox, Lowry

MF Parkhouse, Singh

FW Burns, Krishna

Rudan was yet to be appointed at that stage, his first signing was Steven Taylor, announced on July 10.

I think it's very good that we were quick in appointing Talay. Whether he's the right guy or not remains to be seen - but the facts are that we aren't the most attractive proposition at the moment and the market is going to be hugely competitive; especially for Australian players - more competitive than it ever has been.

Congrats on the title - now get on a plane to Poland and see what talent is lurking in the U20's.

and ask tratty if he wants to come back!

And if there is not much in the U20s, stop by for a friendly visit at Legia Warsaw, Piast Gliwice, or even my old home team, Pogon Szczecin. You never know whom the coaches may want to ship off on a cheap loan, the further away the better...

So if Sydney win tomorrow by 3 against Kawasaki and other results go their way does that mean Talay will be delayed longer? or is he definatly here this week?

Sydney are eliminated, they've lost the potential head to head tiebreaker with Shanghai.

Current state of the group. Not sure why Sydney is listed as 'Eliminated', they are certainly not favourites to progress, but are in with a sniff
