Who reckons FFA are going to review the ADP flop? I dont think anyone but Gary Philips thought it was a legit penalty. Bozza was fired up...

Or is there too much risk for FFA in suspending ADP this close to the finals?

That's not like you JV. Could apply to one or two Nix players.

he'll get away with it because there was actually contact. Similar to Jeronimo last time.

Also, I reckon the yellow card he got later means the FFA can say the ref dealt with it (ADP being a diving cheating cunt) during the game.

Bozza also did a complete 180 after the game and said it was a penalty (after reviewing it on super slow-mo about 200 times). His bosses at Fox Sports probably pointed out that ADP not playing finals footy would be bad for ratings.

ADP's yellow was actually a foul on him, ref got it wrong.

Holger Osieck in the mix for the job ...

24 Apr 04:13

I want this sooooo much.

Yes yes yes yes please yes yes!

What about the ADP-as-coach rumour?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

Can I ask why the enthusiasm from 2B and P478? I feel I am missing a clue here (more than normal)

I think they are insinuating Sydney would not thrive under his management

Holger would be the only appointment they could make that would make the fans want Farina back instead.

That would be an interesting mix. Tony P back with Ricki again on a volatile cauldron of a club. Phoenix redux?

25 Apr 06:00

I hope Ricki gets it.

25 Apr 06:45

Ricki + Tony + ADP + Sydney Owners = win.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

25 Apr 06:50

I think that would be a good fit for him. He is quite mild and won't buy into the fan mania. He will get more out of that rag tag lot than Frank did I think.

First signings would be smeltz, lochhead & Leo.

Vinnie Lia to Sydney as well

Arnold is more likely to consider the Newcastle Jets option, according to some reports - simply because he'd have more freedom to make decisions than at Sydney FC.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

26 Apr 07:59

i think sydney have greater ambition than mr herbert from noo zelund.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

How many other unbeaten world cup coaches have applied?

Haven't heard anything about Ryan Nelsen applying.

Sydney will go with some flash foreigner or give ADP his first coaching gig, unless Graham Arnold has no other options.

Arnold knows he's in demand; he can dictate his terms and choose whichever club agrees with them.

Newcastle will offer him the job, and give him total control.

The Jets fans won't care that he coached their rivals the Mariners, as they can see what a good coach he is.

I don't see why Newcastle fired Van Egmond last year; they had nobody better lined up.

You would think so but then this is the club who conducted a "worldwide search" before appointing their assistant coach - Ian Crook - as head coach, who then quit, leading to the appointment of Frank Farina, who had been previously sacked by Brisbane after being caught drink driving on the way to training. With Sydney FC, anything is possible.

Smeltz would actually be a good signing for Sydney.

Who will Sydney's new foreign marquee and Aussie marquee be? Probably wouldn't arrive in time for Sydney's July matches in NZ.

Speculation in the media includes some tantalizing prospects:

"Having spent $10m on marquees in the past two seasons — $8m on Del Piero and the residue on Emerton — Sydney’s budget for next season will be around $2m, with the expectation currently that both the foreign and Australian marquee spots will be filled...'

...Names to have emerged so far include Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and the Uruguay striker Diego Forlan.

Though Forlan signed for Cerezo Osaka in the J-League at the start of the year, he is believed to have taken time to settle in Japan and could be available after the World Cup. Forlan was offered to Western Sydney in December but the club baulked at the US$2m asking price..."

Ray Gatt @Gatty54

Graham Arnold will be named Sydney FC coach tomorrow at a presser. He has signed a 3 year deal. Will have total control

My information is that Arnold will be the highest paid coach in the A-League with a figure of $1.8m over three years.

No all whites role included either.

A few other comments seemed to be taking jabs at CCM as well. I don't think he will get a nice homecoming.

Not exactly playing a straight bat to many questions. Apparently it was also his childhood dream to coach Sydney. Zaaa what?
