Delianov will be the understudy to whoever comes in, whether thats Kurto or Birrighitti or someone else. Really promising keeper though, another top prospect stolen from city.

Isn't it time we had another NZ club in the A-League?

Just so that we could poach all their players. Seems to be the fashion in HAL.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Incoming Western United coach Mark Rudan could have an extra $400,000 to play with as he finalises his squad for next season.

The Hairdryer can reveal both Western United and Macarthur-South West Sydney are set to have an initial salary cap of $3.6 million. That's 12.5 per cent more than the rest of the competition, whose capped payments cannot exceed $3.2 million in the 2019-20 campaign.

It does make sense when current teams have the loyalty payment that the new clubs can't use, you want to see the new clubs succeed for a better competition.

Wasn't aware of loyalty payments... That's actually a really good idea to retain players

Ours probably all goes to Dura but its not a bad idea. Be a shame if they do go scrap it.

I read it as implying they are going to scrap the cap not the Loyalty payment?

With the Bitumens now signing Kurto and Hamill, their squad for next season is starting to take shape. They must be waiting on signing some quality players because if this is anything close to how they line up next season it isn't looking amazing for them. Definitely this starting XI would do fine against the mariners or roar but I assume they're aiming a bit higher than that.

To be fair to them if they pick up a better left back they'll have a decent defence. Not Perth level, but they'd be alright. that attack needs some tinkering with though. 16/23 player spots filled, those last 7 surely will have some known names in there. If I was them I'd go after Brillante and/or Barbarouses and/or Troisi.

Rudan might play a 352 again with Chapman LCD.

Western United have confirmed they will name their new coach, which they haven’t confirmed but is Mark Rudan, on Thursday. That’s the day after the Phoenix end of season awards.

Weird that some people seem confused by what's gone on here.  Rudan has been their coach for weeks, if not months

Didn't think anyone was confused?  I guess some were hoping it wasn't the case, but everyone knew it's where he was headed.

Like I've said previously, I'm pretty certain he's been on board with them since at least January.

Exactly, and it really does't pass the sniff test as far as I am concerned.  Rudan really hasn't done well by our club

The morning after Wellington Phoenix's end of season awards ceremony, Mark Rudan will catch a flight to Melbourne where he will be officially unveiled as Western United's inaugural coach, ending months of speculation surrounding a move to the A-League expansion side.

As I said on the HAL official post on fezbook, never a more apt brand for a club.  Whoring themselves to every player in the league. Kappa Slappers.

The goodwill train left the station for me a long time ago. I'll be very interested to hear what he has to say at the Nix awards do.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Forget Carpe Diem, Its occurred me that with the Western Melbourne wanting to be known as the Bitumen, does this mean their fan base will be known as the Sons of a Bituman??

We are the real deal and ready to spice up the A-league

O'Rourke said Western United had met all of its license payments, which translates to sending more than $15 million to FFA coffers.
