I mean, 50,000 turned up for a concert at Eden Park last weekend, that doesn't suggest that people are all that worried.
Yes, people wear masks on public transport, but that's because them's the rules rather than anything else.

To be honest i think people are still paranoid about being out in big numbers, catching buses and trains with a lot of people in them or even a few. I can only speak from where i am Western Sydney - people are still waring mask even though its been quite safe with no out breaks. I don't know how relaxed the Auckland public are compared to us or Wellingtonians for that matter so truth be told it could possibly cost the club heaps if fk all show up.
Does anyone know what the crowds were like with Rugby lately(Games in
Auckland)>?  

As some one who's been on the front line of this Pandemic in Europe from day dot it makes me laugh that people in Aus and NZ are scared of public transport for a disease less common then any other affliction suffered in the Antipodes.  More chance of being in a plane crash flying to the game then getting SARS CoV-02.

I fully understand the thinking in Europe and especially India at this point in time but Australasia, c'mon!

50,000 people at Eden Park the other day for a concert, 200,000 people were at Cuba dupa a couple of weeks ago which was a record, record attendances at armagedon too.

I think it's safe to say that while people are weary, that extends to using the contact tracing app, not stopping going to events.

For public transport masks are the rules simply because we've had outbreaks on a bus before and contact tracing is hard in such an environment. It's purely logistics.

AWs intercontinental playoff home leg next June (and yes AWs need to qualify out of OFC first). I know Hay has mentioned having that home leg game at Eden Park not the ROF, like the last 3.

A Nix game in each of Welly & Auckland (if Glory can ne persuaded to travel??) in late May, a winter month like next year. Which game will get the biggest crowd?  A head to head so to speak, before NZF make a decision about the venue of next year's huge game.

Something for football fans in Welly & Auckland to consider & a bit of spice come the end of May perhaps!!!

Good KO time. I've just booked Jetstar Akl-Wlg - fly out morning and get 8pm back. $138, I'm happy with that.
If the club get their marketing right for Eden Park, then I can see a crowd in excess of 15,000.

The first and only game I ever managed to drag her to (apart from my own) was an ACFC game, and she honestly enjoyed the weird bogan who came on at halftime to do karaoke more than the football. I think not dragging her is a birthday present

Someone somewhere mentioned that Nix could set a season high crowd with either of the 2 games scheduled in NZ.

As an update last night's Sydney derby had a new season high of a bit over 20,000.

Right, flights and tickets booked for the Wellington game, will sort Auckland tickets later.

Now, less fighting about where the games should be, more discussion about what are we doing RE: 12 pubs?

Options:
1) Six pubs before, six pubs after the Wellington game (most sensible with an afternoon kickoff)
2) Get up at the crack of dawn to still get all 12 in before kickoff
3) Six in Wellington, six in Auckland. A smaller number will be able to finish this, but maybe our livers need to be eased into the season? (maybe those who drank away lockdown don't need to be eased in)
4) Roadtrip 12 pubs Wellington -> Auckland (Drink responsibly, designate sobers driver/book a booze bus etc)

A full Twelve Pubs in each city, suuurely.

Terrible areas from myself to not list that as option #1, let alone leaving it off completely!

I set up a way to do random simulations for the rest of the season with 5/12 chance of Home wins, 3/12 chance of Draws and 4/12 chance of Away wins. With those odds (which is what this season is running at atm), you gotta have about 38 points to sneak into the Top Six most times.

I just quickly did picks and ended up with us 7th on 39 points, and four teams on 40 points!!! (As a simulation I did it with Victory/Glory/Jets losing all remaining matches, which won't be the case).
