Melbourne Victory rumored to be interested in Rudy Gestede; he would definitely be a better option than Hemed, if the Phoenix were interested.

He might be better at scoring in A league than for Boro in Championship..wasnt a fan favourite!

With Piscopo being not match fit or injured and not playing for the Olyroos this arvo, do you think we should replace him>?

Hemed scored zero last season, at least Gestede bagged a few.

Laws & Devlin came on at half time. Laws was playing in the left CB role again, so I'm guessing he will wanna play in that role to help his Olyroos chances.

DeVere and TAHW would be the obvious go to pairing at the moment (barring another significant CB signing)...

But, he is a versatile lad by all accounts so may be best to have him serve his time coming off the bench or taking his chances when injuries and suspensions occur, like Devlin did coming in for Rufer last season. What a pickup that proved to be! If he turns out as half as good as that we'll have a pretty handy player on our hands.

Any word on any pre season fixtures as yet btw? Seems as though our competition are ramping up their preparations. Anything in the pipeline?

The club have mentioned that there's a decent number of friendlies lined up but we've still got a few players in quarantine from arriving in Aus, so might be awhile before the full squad is training together

South Australia going into lockdown, so don't expect an A-League draw anytime soon.

No #38's, so have Marco Rossi who played 38 games for the Nix.

The A-League and W-League seasons are due to start on December 27, with Football Federation Australia expected to release the draws next week.

Veart has seen a proposed draw that has the Reds playing their first match on December 29 away from home.

“We’ve got a temporary draw, (but) there’s talk of us now maybe having to miss the first round,” he said.

No one has worn #37 for the Nix in the A-League, so have a 37 year old Jeremy Christie

He's not going to like that - also, according to him that means he's technically being tortured.

I actually weirdly enjoyed my 2 weeks Christchurch hotel MI. Like a meditative retreat, with a view of the half built Cathedral.

But then I wasn't worried about any skin fold testing, as I tucked into my lunch time steak and chocolate brownies.

Coming from cold Covid Germany, it won't be all bad for Marinovic, as long as they give him a nice exercise area.

The way they are listed makes me wonder if its actually Sotirio up front and Muratovic is playing the wide #10 role?

one of the trialists seems to be peter kekeris former ccm winger

Looks like Payne started in that RB role ahead of Fenton.

The defensive make up of the squad. DeVere > Laws for the starting XI and Laws/McGing fighting for that bench spot. Feel our defensive make up is quite settled this year, even with the loss of Taylor. Wonder if Uffie is still thinking of using an import slot to further strengthen though? I vaguely remember it being mooted not too long after Taylor left for India. Time will tell I guess.

other trialist could be charlie devereux, both him and kekeris played for aus u17 when uffie was assistant

Ben Waine and Ball have followed both on Instagram so likely they were the trialists.

Any idea who led the team as captain for the friendly? Could possibly be our skipper for the season.
