So it's probably going to cost me $500+ to attend 13 "home" games next season.

Cost of season ticket plus travel and accommodation for three 'home away from home' games.

I'll do it because I'm cool, but wtf Phoenix?

Fucking awful draw. Yet to miss a home game in Wellington, but can see my streak being broken by the late Sunday games.

At least the Monday is a holiday, but fuck trying to get accommodation. Is this totally confirmed? Is this the game that could possibly end up being back in Wellington?

So after consultation we have one home game in the first 8 rounds that sounds like a bloody good idea should do wonders for season pass sales.Give yourself a smack Dome.

General Manager David Dome is pleased with the result of what has been a collaborative process with the FFA and Australian broadcaster Fox Sports.

“This is a complex draw with a number of pressures on it. We have listened to fan feedback on their support of the Wellington home base and preference for Saturday games, and so are delighted to be able to act on these.

Don't lie. You've done SFA. Just when things were looking up for the club, you shaft the 4000 ish loyal WELLINGTON supporters.

How many games on a Saturday ?

So WTF are you talking about ?

Oh and you don't bother trying to get more kids/teens to wellington games but you do for Napier ?

epic fail is epic.

Honestly, even the way he says "dour" makes me feel good.

Can you be my travel consultant? Travel and accommodation to three away home games would be at least $500 let alone the season ticket and travel for home home games.

So after listening to fans that they want saturday games we get 3 on a saturday, where as last season we had 4.With the one against the Jets moved to midweek.

So  we get 1 less saturday game and some sunday games moved to 7 kick off.Bloody hell can someone at the club get Dome to stop negotiating things.

I think it may be a case of this is what you can have!
Understand that but what he said was  "We have listened to fan feedback on their support of the Wellington home base and preference for Saturday games" Which dosnt stack up with what we actually have.
We have wait until we produce a product that Fox Sport considers prime time sport.
Sounds like the Saturday/Sunday debacle was completely out of the clubs hands. Not much the club can do when FFA/Fox aren't listening.
Sorry patrick but that isnt what Dome says.If he had come out  and said there wasnt much the club could do about it okay. But he says this.
"We have listened to fan feedback on their support of the Wellington home base and preference for Saturday games"
You do wonder just how serious the FFA are about us as not for the first time we have been royally screwed when it comes to draw, and yet the club seem satisfied.Go figure. Does seem like they dont really give a shit about us,is going to be very interesting to see what season pass prices look like and if they try and double dip again with club membership.

I know. I was being very conservative, hoping for cheap fares and maybe one of those 'away' games to end up back here.

You're right, it could easily end up costing us $700-800 to attend 13 home games.

The heavy away schedule could pay dividends if they play well. I don't think the crowds would be big early in the season. If they have strong away games then during their home games the crowds will return. Perhaps that was their plan.

Gah the more I think about this the more it pisses me off. We are going to get crowds of 2000 or something on Sunday nights then the owners and FFA are gonna say "no one is supporting the team" and try to wind us up and/or play our home games all over the show in a desperate attempt to get crowds in provincial towns on the "novelty" basis. No one will come to 7pm Sunday games except the very core group of fans. Families won't come because it's too late the night before the new week, students and young professionals won't come because they'll be too jaded/hungover from Friday and Saturday nights, and everyone else will probably jsut not be bothered or will be put off by the lack of public transport options at that time.

Another thing about the start of season tiki-tour is that the players will be travelling far more than any other team - if I got it right 7 consecutive trips out of Wellington for games. I'm sure that'll help the team get some early season momentum and some decent results to get the crowds in in Wellington when they finally return here.

This'll end in tears. And just when I was feeling positive about the Merrick signing and the talk of a Welnix master plan...

I think I will wait until the venues are confirmed before jumping off the cliff. 2nd Best said one of the TBC - NZ could be at the stadium, so I'll grasp that straw for a little while longer.

regardless of the 3x home away from wellington games, all those sunday games are a disaster for this club. Especially the 7pm ones - what a joke. Just shows how well the FFA listened to our request for more saturday games.

Agreed, 4 games at 5.00pm Sunday is garbage.

I'm loving those 3 7.00pm kickoffs :)))) on Sunday and the Saturday games, thanks for listening.

I disagree. I think it's going to be fun.

I often go to Napier to watch the U19s. Now I can watch the Phoenix as well. Win.

Sounds like we'll arrange a Fever Bus up/back Sunday/Monday. And a Fever Hotel has already been reserved. Easy.

Granted it might be tough for a few U19 teams who'll find it more difficult than usual to get accom for a whole team.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I'd like to see two and half games at 7.53pm and another two and half at 3.13pm....   just saying...

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
