My huge problem is a huge lack of public transport that late on a Sunday. It's going to put a lot of people off. It's even putting me off a bit, but of course ill be there.

Sunday 7pm is quite a good time to be watching a game on tv. I'm sure many people will prefer that option rather than attending.

Whats wrong with Sunday games at 7pm on Dec 22nd and 12th Jan?

For those that keep moaning about the time not being suitable for kids I'm asking "why the hell not". They dont have school the next day!!

so expect 2000 kids and zero adults then

I can't believe the amount of hand-wringing, whinging and general dummy spitting I am seeing.   Welcome to the world of professional televised sport and get used to it.   Aussie League regularly has Sunday evening kick offs, and Monday night games as well.   Local Rugby (ITM Cup) has midweek games and varied kick offs.   Don't see or hear a lot of complaints, or a media campaign (as suggested earlier) to change things

Get over it!

Don't piss off old people - the older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent

Imagine what the world would be like if everyone who ever fought for some sort of change, instead had that 'that's the way it is, get over it!' Attitude.

As has already been stated a couple of times the people who are whining on here about the days/times of games are pretty much all going to be at the games anyway.

The reason we are whining is because we can see that some of these games (e.g. Sunday at 7pm) are not going to appeal at all to the casuals who the Nix desperately need to get along to increase attendance and revenue.

The whining on here isn't really based in personal self-interest, it's based in a concern for how this draw impacts on the club as a financially viable entity. Sorry, but anybody who can't see that is an idiot.

Taking 3 home games on the road next season is different. That's nothing to do with TV and there's legitimate reason for hardcore supporters to be annoyed about that.

2000 kids you'll be lucky, most of the kids will be away on xmas holidays, regardless of the late kick off those dates are horrid.

Seriously? You're not looking very hard then.
Want me to keep going? Don't worry, rugby people are just as whiny as football people, if not more so.

Rugby is a TV sport.

Only watch players when the back have it - TV for scrums and mauls.

Football is live sport.

unless you love lots of wide angle shots, to cover the runs(or lack of) off the ball.

I actually thought it was because it makes it harder to get on the gas with a Sunday 7pm kick off.

Sorry can you elaborate on that. Are you essentially saying that the only time to really watch rugby is once it gets past the 1st 5 and at any other time, the game is built for TV where they can zoom in?

A pile of between 4n20 players on top of the ball makes it hard to see from your seat in the stand so you watch the close up on the big screen - with yes the camera zoom. You only really watch live when you can see the ball.

La Liga. But Spanish people don't work, so it works out ok.

Surely it is easier.  Do the "family" stuff in the morning, drink all afternoon, fall asleep at the stadium in the evening.

It makes it a lot easier to pre-load :P Am sure certain members of Fever will still be at Bencher at Midday whether it is 4:30, 5:00 or 7:00pm kick-off

I'm still interested to know why the warriors get 4pm KOs, and we get 7pm. Is it more games per round so they can afford it.

Better for me, as it will be 4pm so can take the missus out for lunch.

So much this. Not really sure how the club thinks it is going to move forward with this draw.We have one actual home game in the first few rounds, then we also get 3 7o'clock kickoffs on a sunday.Which some of you dont see a problem with, maybe you havnt tried to catch public transport on a sunday or god forbid if you wanted to attend from out of town.

I hope im wrong but i cant see how this draw can be in any way good for getting attendances back up to a .decent level this season.Hope the Welnix guys are down on their knees praying that Merrick can deliver because if we head into our 2nd game at the stadium with some bad results they might need more than prayers.

Big difference though and im   guessing that in most of those countries football is either or close to the number 1 sport. As has been pointed out that starting time probably wont be a problem for us Phoenix tragics but will make a big difference to the casuals.

Lets face it if your a casual who has to use public transport from Upper Hutt or the Kapiti Coast chances are you wont bother with those games.

Still dont understand why Aussie TV would want our games at that time of night.Surely they arnt that stupid to think they are going to get decent ratings out of it or is there another motive behind it.Can here the moaning already when the crowd figure gets posted for those games.

Shit i hope im wrong.

No one works in Spain though. The ones that do sleep half the day anyway. So no one's bothered by getting home past midnight on a Sunday.

Some Sundays there are 3 games on, with a night game in Aussie. If there was only 1 League game on each Sunday, they might push the Warriors later as they have done to us.

Over the Xmas and New Years period we have games on the 19th, 22nd, 27th Dec and 1st of Jan. We then have an 11 day break for recovery before our next game on the 12th Jan.

Would it be asking too much of the players to try and sneak a friendly against a MLS side into that 1st - 12th Jan gap? We could see if Toronto wanted to come over.

More reason for less casuals at our first game?

We play the Monday evening before it, Ernie's and Carlos' first trip back to Melbourne. It could be a date that the club should look at putting a package deal together for.
