Daniel was a top player for our team for a couple of seasons. Fans paid money to see him play.

Yes this, a couple of seasons only the rest of his time here he was a great club man who we sadly only ever briefly saw play at the level he had done when he first arrived.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Is Matthew Foschini worth a look?

Young, versatile defensive cover. Obviously knows Ernie

That's not a bad call. He's desperate for a gig so would be cheap too.

Was horrible for MV a couple of years ago but maybe he's improved. Any cover is better than no cover at this stage.

It does sound like he'd be driven and wouldn't mind sitting on the bench though, so fair shout/

Interesting. I'd assume Ernie would be keen to get a left back in he's as confident in as Fenton on the right.

Uncontracted young fullback. Probably a mad scramble to get his sig, not sure where he'd be looking. Probably Championship or similar. Hopefully Ange's pro-A-League stance works well for us

not a striker

God, I wish we could sign one more player who will play in our first team

A striker or left back wild card would be very nice

Sarpong, Appiah.

Appiah being our leading scorer in the preseason, level with the preseason record for the Nix.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

we play 3 forwards, whether you call them strikers or not is largely irrelevant with the style we play

the middle guy is generally deeper (mcglinchey or powell) the wide guys are more advanced and quite narrow (appiah, sarpong, krishna etc)

in terms of numbers, we are well stocked, but in terms of quality i'm not so sure.  i think if we were title contenders krishna would be a sub.  in fairness to him however he seems to have improved a lot on last season, wheather this is the case when the season starts will be interesting

Powell, Sarpong, Krishna, Appiah and Rogerson.

I was wrong - we have 5.

are strikers players that score goals, or that play a certain role other than that though?

No, the definition of a striker seems not to be whether or not they score goals but how tall and slow they are and whether or not they play with their back to goal. Scoring goals is not a criteria otherwise we would have more strikers than we do.

Too bad Sydney bet us to Matt Simon.

I didn't say they aren't valuable just that their primary roll is not as a striker in the traditional sense.

As stated a front line full of Not a strikers worked well for us last season.

I am picking Roy Krishna is going to be devastating this season. That may or may not include scoring a lot of goals, but his preseason form has me excited. His play on the right flank as a creator is becomming Barbarousesesque.

Everybody keeps going on about having strikers but we Ernie plays a false nine. We don't need strikers we don't even have a position in the squad for them. Our recruitment reflects that. Sarpong appiah and krishna are all wide men but that BY NO MEANS suggests they won't score goals!

I feel Roy will explode this season. I really think we'll see some exciting stuff.

Only strikers can score goals. Everybody knows this.

I want us to get a striker so we can implement Plan B.

I think at the moment our not-a-centreback issue is much more pressing though.

If a back 3 is now our plan A, is last years back four a plan B?

Also Powell is probably the Plan B off the bench poacher.

It's like Netball right? Only strikers are allowed in the opposition's goalbox.

FIFA ruling #543 only strikers are allowed to fall down in the opposition's goal box.
