I recall it was the first 4 home games?  I'm sure someone will confirm.

Most definitely a thing

should print this off and hand to all ticketek agents on game day.

PSA:

I used the "Game day tickets - bring a friend for free" benefit above today. The ticketing agent at the stadium tried to charge me for a discounted ticket, but I showed her this table on my phone and her supervisor magically produced a ticket and didn't charge me.

We noticed this last year too. It always happened but some negotiation was required.

Do you get one free friend per season ticket a year or something?

Last night we hit the no staff know about the 20% discount issue.

Was that the $50 northern membership? It came with the membership pack too?

My membership card came last month. My membership pack came today. My Northern Pass is yet to come. Lady-who-wasn't-Brenda on the phone last week said "ring back if it doesn't come next week".

One free per game per season pass.

Free Ticket is 1 game per season pass in a season.

It was only available at Fowler centre last year so they could record you had used your allocation.  The wording is poor and if you push at the stadium ticket box you may WIN?

Ticketek bar coding and A League refereeing are the only 2 standards that have not improved one bit in ten years.

Have you got a link to the wording? Last year I got it a few times at the stadium. No-one said anything about Michael Fowler, nor only once per season.

It says "Game Day tickets" not "Game Day Ticket - One per year", so Id say the wording is worse than appalling if that is what is intended

That's a nice little uptick.  Not sure we'll hit the 5k, but it is looking a bit more acceptable #metrixs

Got my Northern Pass today - and kind of disappointed to realise that, since I have to ring up to get my tickets anyway, it's a meaningless bit of plastic since I have a Club Membership as well. :-/

Finally received our cards this week (only got around to renewing a couple of days before the first game). But we are unable to go to the game tomorrow night due to another commitment. Anyone know if the membership packs will still be available at the following game, or can they be collected from somewhere else?

Not going to Hamilton or Auckland then away over New Year time so next game we can get to will be the 2nd home game in January. Emailed Brenda to ask how we can get the packs and she forwarded it onto the club to see if they could be sent to us. Didn't hear anything back then a couple of days ago they turned up in the mail. Thumbs up to Brenda once again.

When I spoke to Brenda last week to get my Hamilton and New Plymouth tickets I gave her praise for her service and said she wasn't allowed to ever leave.  Then she told me this was her last year doing Phoenix stuff and that she would be moving on.  Utter devastation!

Does anyone know if I can buy a ticket online and get my 20% discount? And if so, how do I do it?

Hadn't read this thread since before the season started, just caught up on all the horror stories around ticketing, unbelievable stuff.

Issues like this have been going on since 2007, it's never improved. If it's not one thing it's another.

Is this what a virtual monopoly gives us with ticketek in this industry? Anyone with a tiny bit of nous could surely out-perform this service for the same price... How profitable are they? Is that the issue? Is the profit margin so slim in this industry that they under-service you? Somehow that doesn't seem like it given the fees they are charging the consumer on top of whatever they get from the stadium and individual sporting franchises/organisations.

It seems a teensy bit of competition in the industry could sort this out?

The problem is that the people who are choosing the provider aren't the people on the end of the poor service. In other industries if a consumer gets shark service they can not go back to that shop/cafe/hairdresser/whatever but with ticketing companies you can only buy their product from the place the event promoter has selected

The problem is ticketmaster is so much worse.

It's not really a monopoly like sky.  Sure a competitor can enter the market if they have billions to spare but they have deals in place to make it stupidly hard.

And as a consumer you're fudgeed, you have one option or miss out.  I can pay sky/ticketek for the Nix or see no Nix.

Admittedly at least the Nix had Brenda until this season.  I pray for next.

I was in 45 mins before the start, and the guy had already given up swiping season passes as they didn't work, so he just swiped all of us in!
