THe only real issue I can see with that draw is the Perth game. Following a Monday game with a Thursday game is not great, but following a Monday game in Wellington with a Thursday game in Perth is ridiculous.
So what football fan arsewipe thought that a good way to support the club would be to resurface Wetspot? Isn't Spring the time to do that? September or October?
I suspect Westpac stadium know a little more about when is best to returf than anyone here (well, with one possible exception)

Assuming Westpac Stadium chose December for returfing so that the pitch is ready for the Lions Tour next year. TopLeft???

Considering the Nix are one of the higher rent payers, why not bite the hand that feds you.

Pretty sure we benefit from this after the initial inconvenience has passed

Have we been shafted by the stadium, you would have thought given that we are one of their regular users that the turf being done would not have been done in the middle of our season.Maybe there are reasons but does seem at a breif glance that its us thats been shafted. Think there will be plenty of Rent A Crowd in attendance to make it look okay.
It's also possible that multiple parties determined the timing for the resurface too.
Huawei may have asked for those games, the Nix wanted to do it around then and maybe the stadium wanted to do it around then and so everyone (except some of us) are happy with the arrangement.
It's one of those issues where we probably will never have all the information.

Do we actually pay the most rent in relation to cost?
I've heard this before and would be interested to know how factual it is.
Reading over the article (that released the fixtures) provides a frustrating insight into the license negotiations of last season. Talking about regular 5 figure attendances is ridiculous, especially now the novelty factor of NZ games has worn off. Only 5 figure games we get are finals football, later round when we're near top and, of course, mid-November Friday evenings at the RoF.
Sorry if i have read it wrong but we play at the ROF on the 19th of November and play there next on the 2nd of January. Thanks for nothing dont bother moaning if crowds dont turn up.Great way to thank the wellington fans for staying loyal for 10 years.

One question hasn't been raised yet. Why New Plymouth rather than a South Island gig?

No one shows up in Dunedin but I'd happily go back to Christchurch

Dunedin was a disaster, and Christchurch last year wasn't that great. I think people need to have the option of driving rather than having to fly, and South island games don't lend themselves easily to that.
Will be interesting to see how pre-season in Nelson works.
I've pencilled in road trips to New Plymouth and Hamilton. I was at the Warriors game in New Plymouth. Yarrow Stadium is a great stadium. They got just under 13,000 for the Warriors which would have been boosted by the population of Waitara and half of Hawera. Will be interesting to see how many the Nix get. New Plymouth is still quite a drive from other main cities including Wellington. Its 2 hours 40 from Palmy as I do the trip regularly.

Nelson will hopefully-maybe-fingers-super-crossed go well. It's a city which has both a reputation for getting behind sports, and a good football following.

What no way we could have played actual away games at that time and played our home games when the stadium becomes available. End of the day its a done deal and much easier to roll over and accept it.

That's the kind of optimisim we need more of round these parts.

Nelson would be good, also plenty of regional airlines fly the Wellington to Nelson route in addition to AirNZ so no shortage of ways in and out.
Does this open the possibility of a YF road trip via a bus to New Plymouth and to Tron? That might soften a blow for me. Shame about the Auckland trips though.
Still if there are low turn outs up there, Domey and the sponsors might finally get the message.
Some of our best and most passionate fans are up there but sadly not enough in numbers - otherwise the Kingz or the Knights would have survived.
I still agree with Ballane and Hatter. When are are married and have kids it makes trips so much harder.

So I am doing the half ironman in Taupo (when I pay the entry fee) on December 10. Extra motivation to finish quickly = trip to the Tron straight after for the mighty Nix...ambitious?

Stoked at the draw - 3 games.
Hamilton for an Aucklander is just a thriving suburb.
Auckland will rise once more
Awesome photo on Stuff but sorry Domey, you are wrong, might as well change the name to the New Zealand Phoenix and play every home game in a different center. Only 10 games at Westpac. Hmmm $10 per game tickets is 100, or buy a season ticket for 170?

If you cant take the piss out of yourself, you shouldn't take it out of others. I do have a self depreciating sense of humour as those that really know me will say. 41 years of being a QPR fan makes it a necessitie Surge.

I fully understand why people are disappointed/upset/fudgeed off with the club for the relocated fixtures but can't help but think that the club have their hands tied on the matter, certainly for the month of December when the RoF is unavailable.
Having to keep the Major Sponsor happy as well as the governing body, both of whom actually pay the bills, is hard enough. But having to keep supporters happy too? I would hate to have to make these decisions. We have to trust, however much we don't like it, that the club has thought long and hard about any decisions that have been made and has made said decisions with the clubs future in mind.
I have said it many times before, the biggest problem the club has is not the supporters who turn up every week, it's the ones who don't attend on a regular basis. If we were regularly averaging 15k + attendances then the club would be in a better bargaining position with the bill payers. Sadly we don't so we are at their mercy.

10 games more than we would have had if the owners weren't willing to dip into their pocket. They pay the coin, they set the rules. Its 4 games not a huge deal. Looking forward to the new season.

So happy to have a fixture list to moan about!
It could have been so so very different.
I know, I know, its serious!

New Plymouth, yes. We'll look into it.
Not sure about the Tron, might be just a bit too far away. But if there's enough interest, we could see how that pans out too.

When is the Mount one? Be a shame to miss the night on the razz in the Tron.

So people need to chill the fudge out. If you can't show respect to other posters, don't post at all.
I have stated my position on this seasons games (Before the draw came out!). I hope i have more people that are of the same opinion, because once again , the club have said they want to be family friendly, but the lead up to the most expensive time of year for families, has us travelling 2500km over two weekends. I will spend my money taking my kids to Australia over Xmas, we will have a much better value for money experience! And we will be supporting the team in Australia.
