2016/17 Transfer Speculation

So the rumour is that Appiah has got another A-League contract... Is he the new Cernak? Goes from team to team based on potential until he runs out of teams that will hire him.

Appiah's pace must be appealing to clubs, think Ruka in his first A League stint.

If you can get the other aspects to fall into place the potential is huge. He wont ask for much so the risk is low.

When I say think Ruka... he was sharke to start with and improved significantly before earning a gig overseas.

Note that he (Rukavitsya) was good enough to earn a national team call-up. No risk of that with Appiah.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Probably just a work around to get the kid some game time because he can't play whilst contracted.

Could Boxall be enticed back with the cap money Siggy was taking up? Or is he locked into a contract now?

Fuck this stupid game

Believe he's locked into another year in SA

Big fan of the way he plays, though, and would like to see him back. Has a real presence, much like Siggy.

Yeah, that was the concern when we signed Finkler. Hopefully Riera and/or Krishna get kiwi citizenship so we can bring in an import or 2 at the back.

I'd like to see Musa and Old given a chance to trial again.

Both players have gon away and made a good fist of things in lower leagues around the world and are surely better players now. Old is the VC at his current club so one would assume an automatic selection whilst Musa is captain and was good enough last year to be asked to trial at a MSL club prior to falling injured.

Perhaps both were thrown in a little too fresh?

Old is a vicecaptain in a Swedish second tier team. Would like to see Musa as a plan B but neither of those are the CB the Phoenix need.

Did I read somewhere that Old has signed with Keat and Henderson's club in Sweden?
