Probably should start a new thread for this seasons memberships, they go on sale at midday on Monday (14/8).

No more Brenda, so who will save us from Ticketek's screw ups this season?

I'm presuming that the membership deals will be pretty much the same as last season?

this isn't correct. Phoenix have stated there will be 2 or 3 games outside Wellington, they just haven't named which games those will be.

Sure, I remember that being stated somewhere a little while back. But what they have put up on their website as the list of fixtures shows 13 home fixtures, 1 of which is at QBE and the rest Westpac. Perhaps they are waiting for confirmation of the other game locations before changing their game list?

the website still lists Greenacre & Buckingham as coaches and has Vince Lia in the squad, so I wouldn't really trust what they put on there

Sure. It's definitely in need of updating. But in this instance, the fixture list is the same as the official fixture list on the A-league website.
Regardless, I am looking forward to renewing membership today.  My mate who came along to a lot of the home games last season is going to get a season ticket as well. Hopefully our numbers will at least hold from last season.

The fixture list on the website is taken directly from the one loaded into the A-League website.

It's wrong. Don't ready anything into what the website says, listen to what the Nix said.

You would have hoped that they would have the fixtures sorted out before they started selling season tickets.

Hopefully that was the reason for the delay, other clubs have had their memberships on sale for months. Guess we will see in 30 minutes.

10 games at home and 17 not at home make it a very hard follow.

I preferred the "yellow submarine" riff, personally, but what do I know. Here is the new kit, then:

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

the away games are essential... it helps create a fan base which for the metrics / viewing numbers is important. Because of the jump last year apparently Sky are actually investing in pre match material.

Even with only 10 home games, it's $17 a game if renewing membership and 17 reasons to go to Bethel Woods or Four Kings over the season

From their twitter there is 10 confirmed in a Wellington, 1 Auckland and 1 still to be confirmed leaving 1 unaccounted for as well so could still be 11 in Wellington or 2 more (3 in total) out of Wellington.

$10 tickets at the gates after each home game? Like most my ST money is aimed at helping sustain the club in some form. In numbers we can make a difference but sometimes I do wonder. The recent announcement of a new infinity with Wellington raised my hopes that our hone games might be at home. So it will be with some disappointment should we play any more than the Auckland game in March away from Westpac.

Why can't we play at Westpac when Alice Cooper is in town?

I will be disappointed if Auckland doesn't get two games... I watch every game, but the reality is, bar for these game the opportunity to travel is not realistic and the TV is not the same.

And whilst I may not help the bottom line through buying a season pass, I do help build the brand through talking about it and sharing in its success. There are a lot of fans like myself who have followed the team from day 1 that live around the country... don't we deserve something?

And I know this will piss people off, but as much as you are a Wellington team, you are the one and only professional NZ team, and this is possibly the most important role the club plays... building the profile of the game nationally.

Are the memberships on sale yet?

If so why do they make is so difficult each year.  Im overseas so want a membership without a ticket,  when I go to checkout it tells me

"Sorry, we are unable to obtain the tickets you requested. This either means that the remaining tickets are currently in other customers baskets, or that there aren’t enough available adjacent seats to fulfil your request. You can try again with a smaller quantity of tickets, or in a different category"

Please someone get this sorted out - if someone knows how this can be sorted please message me

Going for the direct debit option again; having the same problems as last year. Won't recognise my card(s), or my account number. Looks like a call to Brenda's replacement is in order. Has anyone else using this option managed to get past the gates?

Is the club aware of these problems,  they should try to ensure that to get a membership is so easy anyone can do it.  Im not about to make an international phone call to get my "online" membership sorted out

Well, 10 home games is a piss poor season by any standards Ive ever known, and you often have to wait weeks between games.

And if you cant make a game or two out of those 10 games (for Alice Cooper, say) , then its even worse.

A 10 to 17 ratio is dire for generating interest , commitment and, well, anything really.

And Ive probably only missed one or two Phoenix home games EVER!

Easy solution, get another Auckland team organised. Sadly the attendences at the Auckland games are decreasing every year so even though your good efforts in spreading the word are appreciated by us, it seems your fellow Aucklanders have other ideas. Yes, there is a hard core of Auckland attendees of about twenty and that support is appreciated and encouraged, but the reality is, it appears Auckland football fans dont really give a crap about the Nix. They know we exist, they know well in advance when the games are going to be, but they are not turning up.

It's the stadium issue. The QBE pulled 10,000 a few years ago, but only 6,000 last season. Mt Smart, 5000 ish.

Eden Park has always pulled 10,000+ numbers in, but like the WestPac, 10,000 people in a 40,000 seater is just a bit dire.

NZ Football want games to be played at 'the home of football' or whatever they call the QBE, which instantly makes anyone south of the bridge go 'aw fudge that, I'm not schlepping up there'. Look at the outcry when they wanted to move the Warriors north - chaos.

Its been a few years, I'd be interested to see how an Eden Park game does now with the increased use of trains etc to get to games. Not going to happen though.

I have thought about this and expressed opinions on it, just ask Doloras.

To be fair to you fans up there, I found Mt Smart the best of the three venues for my own selfish views. Easy to get to and I can get on the bus at 10:30 outta there. So I would have preferred the game there.

NHS - "Home of football" ???????????. Play on the pitch where there is more sand than grass.

Where Blockhouse Bay used to play and rule NZ football for many years is the spiritual home.

It's the four cities thing. Auckland's not one place. South Auckland/Isthmus/Westies/North Shore are all separate entities really.

London's the same, North/South/West/East etc.

Ask a Londoner to go from Zone 3 to Zone 5 or across the city for something and they'll act like you asked them to cross an ice flow.

Ask most Aucklanders to go to the Shore and it's the same.

Parking at Mt Smart is dreaaaadful and there's very few pre-match places. QBE is vaguely better, but Eden Park has the transport and the amenities. It's still too bloody big for anything but the AB's though.
