Good solid signing although definitelywill be up front. Can't see him getting any game time with the quality we have out wide. needs to start well though or could fade into obscurity. One bad thing though is the endless puns we'll have to endure, i just hope people will understand it's only funny once

Puns, my friend, are one of the best bits of the english language.  The more the better I say.

Very pleased with the Kwasnik signing - I think he fit in brilliantly with Smeltz, Bertos, Gao, Daniel and co.

I'm curious why the contract is only for 1 year - his choice, our choice or mutual agreement ?

I think with potentially 2 more teams joining the league next season it would be good to have as many of our key players signed up for this and next season as possible before those teams enter the market.

Anyway looking forward to plenty of thrills from a very good aquisition.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Seemed strange to me also... Maybe he wants a contract at the pimps? Or maybe Porter is coming next season...?

I reckon it's just so it leaves it open for Porter coming.

whats the case if kwasa has a stella season, scores 30 goals, then porter arrives?

play 3 up front?!! or will it be the weakest preformer in the season makes way for him?( aka smeltz)
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

We'd probably keep all 3 since covs would be retired then

Allegedly

He might be looking at heading overseas next year?

Doesn't want to be tied down

Yeah this must be Coveny's last year.

I also wouldn't assume that Porter will definitely be here next season, or that he or the club will still be keen.  A year is a long time in football.

We are looking sharp for this season, very sharp

Normo's coming home

Agree with Whitby Boy there is potential that our squad will get raped of its players next season with a number of them ocming off contract and new teams coming into the league with $$$$$

Up to us to make them want to stay - how is the season membership drive going?

That would be my guess - he's 25 so he is probably at the age when it is soon or never if he wants to have a crack at breaking in to Europe. Coming to the Nix and getting good game time would raise his profile for European scouts. That might normally be a bit of a worry (here for a year to make a name for himself and move on) but I don't think so with Kwasnik. Reading the Mariners forum he clearly always gives 100% for the team and I have no doubt he will do the same here.

I don't think the 1 year term will be to make room for Porter next year - I expect this is Covs last year and Porter (or a Porter like aquisition) will take Covs spot.

I dont think it is such a bad idea having him on a one year deal... I think i saw somewhere that the last season he played in striker wasn't a massively succesful one. I think he will have a succesful season with the nix!!! but if he doesn't at least we can be rid of him... lol

1 year deal gives him a chance to prove himself and get signed for another year or two, it also works out for him if the Nix (god forbid) fail and don't get the lisence renewed.

Queenslander 3x a year.

I think we're pretty safe on the licence front. The concern really was off field issues and how the Knights were being run - not only the results on the pitch. If that was the case Perth would be goneburgers too.
