Adults using kids' tickets to get into RoF

It is how it works out due to work commitments and kick off times (7.30pm kick offs are hell on a 6 month old) - we can't make every game this season so for the first time we do not have a membership. Occasionally we trade off, one of us can go to the game, the other stays to look after baby. On the occasions we both go it costs $67 (my apologies, got it wrong).

A family ticket costs $67, not $66. To buy them separately it is $72.

Ouch.

I agree prof but that wasn't my point. To say that tickets are not expensive is insulting to people who do their best to find the money to attend matches.

I wonder what the club would prefer - A dude rocking up and buying a kid's ticket, or not rocking up at all because he can't afford it.

My apologies if this is mentioned earlier cause Im not going to troll through 9 pages of rant and funniness but why cant the Red Badge do a spot check on tickets on a couple of games.They only need to catch an adult with a child ticket and evict them?, maybe a season ban?, maybe losing the ticket and having to buy another is enough?

Except that a lot of people buying the kids ticket CAN afford an adult one,but are just ripping the system off. So as a trade-off,it is ripping the club off overall.

apparently for the league last night they were doing random ticket checks for child tickets.

People are already dodging this, theyre buying childrens tickets online and photoshopping 'Child' to 'Adult', then printing it out.

Ive heard people saying that theyve done this.

Stating the penalties would help. And following through. I was unaware there even is penalties.

A different light or separate section for concession tickets to enter by would be easy enough...

OK, here's my perspective.  I have a familly ticket - two adults, two kids.  There are occasions (midweek games for example) when I don't take the kids because it's too late for them on a school night.  Once or twice I have taken another adult in using a kids ticket.  This is a person who wouldn't otherwise have gone to the game.  I do it because I can - they never check on the gate. 

Just a thought about the turnstyles at Westpac Stadium.

I noticed on entry to the Kiwis league test, that the orange light on the top went off when the fellow in front of me walked through.

Do they already have the ability to bleep a different light on a child ticket being scanned? Is this just turned off?

Or do security not actually know what the pretty lights are for, and just stand there because they were told to?

I've got the student season pass and I find it's great value... not sure if I will renew once I have finished study - guess it'll depend on how much money I make!

Even for adults, the season pass is pretty good value compared to other sports. If this were another sport I would probably only go to 3 or 4 matches for the same price.

The orange light means it is a child ticket. Whenever i went to games when i was younger, this light flashed for me but not my dad. It doesnt flash for student tickets though, so maybe this is the new way to get into the ground for cheaper?

Child or Student ticket, mine goes orange normally and I've got a student ticket.

So red badge just need to do their job and pay attention to the light then...

Stop moaning! Instead, drag more mates to buy adult tickets and test out the light fantastic at the turnstiles.

Theyre just a bunch of beneficiaries who've been slung a hi-vis vest, the promise of $100 and a free beer at the end of the night. Theyre not actual guards thus wont do actual work.

I have never done this, but I don't think turning a blind eye is the worst thing in the world.
If you care that much about it, you could always do the shaming yourself...
