Apologies if you get all angry but it just offsets the cost and enables 4 of us to go for a reasonable price rather than all be hit hard before we even get to the game and pay $4.50 for a punnit of chips. The prices for an adult ticket are ridiculous and how are you meant to attract your friends to come by saying it costs 33 bucks to get in?

I'm not even going to comment on the rest of your post, but how much would you suggest that the tickets should be then?

$5? $3?

im guessing they are thinking of more in the $20 range.
ive always thought $20 for a warriors ticket was good value. im more than happy to pay $33 for the nix though, some apparently are not

This really pisses me off, it's not as if going to the Nix is that expensive anyway.

People from out of town have to pay for fuel costs and sh*t on top of that, but even with that on top of the ticket prices, it's still not that expensive.

I can't believe someone would be that rank to steal from the club like that, cause thats what it is.. theft.

Sickens me.

Its fraud/theft at worst, cheating at best.  Needs Red Badge to check evey ticket at turnstiles, create huge queues Unless more turnstiles are opended up, doing so thus building up angst against aforementioned offenders and prosecute the ones caught... first time.

I wont debate (much) whether they are fans or not.....at least they put some money where their mouth is in these recessionary times.

Yea $20.

A full price adult in silver costs $28 + 5 dollar booking fee = $33 each

A family pass is $67 + $5 booking fee /4 = $18 each.

My ten cents worth: Prices at Phoenix are fair and good value for money, except for the no discounted price for OAPs.

Why don't we do a relative cost comparison then

Phoenix = $33
Warriors = $20 (someone said)
Cinema = $18
Hell Pizza for Wife and I = $50ish (including delivery)

I don't think $33 is an outrageous price. If it was closer to $40 then I might think its getting up there but $33 is fine.

Any other costs? Lions, Huuricanes, Breakers, Shakers

I voted "NO", but my 9y/o has used an Adult ticket to get in. I got my mrs to get her a ticket (I have a season pass) at Ticketek because she works across the road from them. When she gave me the ticket day before the game I saw that she paid foe an adult ticket. I couldn't be f**k going back to change it.

I guess you'd have to add the horrendous ticketek fee, which is almost $10 if I remember well, so it adds up to about $40. Although not sure as I've been a season pass holder since day 1.

ive only been to one all blacks game, vs wales in hamilton recently and payed $30-$35, that was the cheapest i could get.

umm grandstand tickets to v8's in hamilton set me back $100 for 3 days but you can pay less for GA or more for certain stands

erotica expo about $25 i think, funny day out that

No. $33 includes to exorbitant Ticketek fee. The ticket price itself is $28. ...plus ...

I'm sure the buying experience whereby one thinks "$28, not bad" and then finds that $5 (or more if using less techy ticket delivery methods) is tacked on leaves a slightly bitter taste and affects repeat purchase behaviour (I too am a season ticket holder, so am postulating).

Part of that behaviour may we ll be - if you are going to rip me off, I'll do the same to you (again, only postulating)

I know, I know, its serious!

Kids are Free at the Lions, adults are about the same.

Hurricanes much more expensive.

Lions had some tickets at $16 this year IIRC..maybe behind goals posts (silver) which raises another issue of paying for silver for say AWs game and then sitting in gold!  ..whcih can be done in half empty stadium.

Simple/cheap solution:
Say on the website "tickets may be checked upon entry", then have a security guard randomly checking tickets before the turnstiles.

Would definitely deter and catch a few people out, without causing congestion at the gate

Exactly, you don't have to check EVERY ticket but if one in every 5 is being checked then the fear of being caught puts everyone off.

FFS this is such a simple problem to solve, i really hope the Nix management are having a stern word to Westpac stadium to sort their sh*t out and employ maybe 5 extra security guards (or even better utilise the ones they have) to stand in a different spot and actually check the tickets.

Or am I missing something?

Those who can't or won't afford the cost in going to RoF can watch it live on Justintv link. This should solve the angst.

Did it for the Boca game im a student and there was no student option and couldn't afford the adult ticket.

in theory its not the security's issue to check if someone has the right ticket upon entry....it's the people selling the tickets.....there needs to be some checking done when a 25yr old comes in a buys 1 child ticket to the YF zone.....or when someone buys a family pass at $67 with his three mates hanging around the door....checking id and ages at the gate will slow things down. the whole issue is difficult to police, but people should be a little more honest and pay what is a reasonable price for an adult ticket - $28 is not exhorbetent.....the booking fee from tiketek is!

The problem is when buying online or over the phone I think theprof.

I'm an ID'd up student and always have to show it to buy a student ticket on the gate. However, for one of the finals games last season, I rounded up a group of mates (all students) - eight in total - and tried to buy eight student tickets from the Ticketek shop at the Michael Fowler Centre. There were four of us there, the others in class or at work, so we only had four Student ID's and they wouldn't sell us eight student tickets. We were going to come back for the others at a later date when the lady let slip that prdering over the phone meant you didn't have to show ID.

We thus walked 50 metres down the road to a phone box, called the 0800 number, spoke to the exact same woman in the store, bought 8 student tickets on a credit card, and then walked back to the shop to collect the 8 tickets she couldn't sell us in person.

The solution is, I think, as people have suggested, to have stewards checking tickets randomly. I've seen the odd ticket get checked at the odd match, but if they're more of a presence, it will stop people from ripping off the system.

I understand where you are coming from... generally I agree with that sentiment.

...here's a different angle to consider.

A good friend bought a family season pass at the start of the season. (2 Adult and 2 kids' tickets).

I have a friend staying who:

( a ) is unemployed

( b ) is and adult and

( c ) is not a football fan - had never been to a football game in her life.

I was going to the game yesterday with my friend who has the family pass (which has already been paid for regardless of whether each ticket gets used or not at each game).

My unemployed friend was just going to be sitting at home on her own. She did not have the money or the inclination to go to the game.

If she had had to buy a ticket she would not have come with us.

My friend with the family pass was taking 2 Adults and one child. The 2nd child ticket was not being used.

My unemployed friend came with us, used the 2nd child ticket to get in, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She was singing, waving a flag, swirling a scarf, and jumping up and down when the Phoenix scored.

After the game she said, and I quote: "Wow! I really enjoyed that. I didn't think I would but that was awesome. I am definitely a Phoenix fan now. When is the next game?"

And she wants to come to the next game, and will buy a ticket, and wants to buy a scarf and a shirt.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

I have to admit I can't afford $30 for every game and my job wasn't secure at the start of the seasion so I couldn't justify affording a season ticket. I'm often amazed at how much you lot spend on Nix mechandise, tickets, travel related expenses not to mention ugly sneakers *cough Stefan cough*. In this situation, it's borderline acceptable, on the fact the ticket has already been paid for.

However if it had been me, I would have tried to find a friend's kid to bring along, and shout the friend an adult ticket.

I hope there aren't any of the season members, who are adults, who regularly go along on family passes as 'children', or worse, children's season passes.
