It makes you wonder maybe the knights may still have been around today if they had followed Terry,s current mode of operation and made emblem an assistant coach?

The problem he is going to have is that from being a player and one of the boys, he is now going to tell the players what they should be doing. Not always an easy move, for him or the players.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

C-Diddy might beg to differ!

I have a feeling he was doing it already to some extent.

I like this move. Greenacre will do an excellent job I think. In fact I'm quietly happy with the way our recruitment is going - it's looking like the usual No Frills line-up but if we can nail a few more decent signings, especially up front, we will definitely be competitive.

Didn't think he was that dynamite against Waitak, scored in these Nix challenge games last year...Has to do some major work for me to like him after all his arm waving and rubbish play...

Fan of Greenie, wish him all the best...

Hard to argue with too much of it though.
I think that everyone likes Greenie, and believes that he could develop into a good coach, but he has some pretty huge boots to fill. Then again, it's possible some of the gaps could be filled by the new GK coach potentially?

Hmm, I wonder whether Mr Burgess'comments about the numbers of staff at other clubs - and the rebuttal regardiung the number of teams, comes from readin points made in this forum?

Seems to be a pattern - I noticed that the Worthington whinge about Aussies trialling at the expense of Kiwis appeared to be drawn from debate in these pages. Really only missing a quote from 'Threak'.

btw, that so-called story about Daniel's Facebook comments is the most driveling, feeble-minded crap I've read in a long time. Here, if you are in the mood to shed a few brain cells:

Well, it's a lovely circle, isn't it? Doom-mongering posters on this forum give Burgess fuel for his stories; Burgess's stories are the justification for doom-mongering.

"His brief is to look after the front third of the pitch, with head coach Ricki Herbert handling defence and midfield as well as the overall selection duties."

This is why we'll never play attacking football. In my mind the midfield needs to attack more than defend especially when our defensive stocks are so rich.Toffeeman2011-08-03 09:06:10

Its no longer a problem.

I read today that Greenacre is getting paid no extra for his new role. Thought that was a bit poor.

Hmm, or everyone is just making a fair point about lack of numbers!!!

I think we're going to need greenacre on the park a lot this year so Ricki could be a busy boy

At this stage we do. In fact at this rate there'll be a handful of lucky fans getting picked out the crowd for a game!

what will happen if the AWs have a match on a non-fifa date, or the A-League doesn't stop for the fifa dates like it has in the past? Greenacre basically won't be able to be available for selection as a player I'm guessing as he'll have to take the team...

He sounds confident in Dani's ability, answered the question on whether he will be Marco's replacement well as they are different styled players.

Also his answer to what further recruits we will get is "watch this space" after alluding to the youth positions we must be close to sealing Bran and Chettleburgh - who are the other youth players outside of Thurtell we have practising that he mentioned??

Is this a big loss? I'm sure people closer to the club would know more. Sounds like he's done a lot for the club in the background.
