Sleep with one eye open, Coxey, and if you can wear plenty of extra layers so access is restricted!

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land....

It's very heartening to see quite a few Tranmere and Mansfield fans come on and say very good things about our new striker.

I'm getting all pumped up now.

be even better when he starts knocking them in...! waiting for the headlines "Greenacre better than *Fowler*".... was going to say it, but didn't quite have the hubris or want to jinx it!

be good to see him outscore all these other flash names- Fowler, Porter, Smeltz, Archie...

Can I suggest a cold shower!!!!!!

Must admit I was a little bit sceptical of the plan to recruit from English Div 1. However I now know that I should have trusted the clubs judgement.
Everything I have heard and seen about Greenie suggests we have made a good signing. Especially when you hear the good raps from Tranmere supporters. Chris himself comes accross as a good pro.....in his interview he sounds like a level headed sort of guy.

When you think that Smeltz was a success in the A-League coming from Conference league level and Greenie has scored 50 plus goals in a short time in league 1 then you can't help get excited.
Seems like they are serious about signing a targetman striker to partner Chris.
if they do find someone with at least the same pedigree then it should be a fantastic year for the Phoenix.

Quite agree with your comments. Need another striker as well as Costa to step up to the plate. Old enough now.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Totally agree. Was VERY skeptical when I heard we were relying on the English talent. But the more I hear, the more I wanna see. Bring it on.

And yeah a targetman would be great, although i would fancy a speedster at the front to run onto our through balls and then have Greenie working off that?

But guess that most the quality strikers we could get will be in the 30's and will no longer have the speed aspect in their game. Guess its quite unrealistic to hope we could find this pace - the only real quick players have been the young Aussies brought up.

There's always Corrales though haha

And i totally agree. I think that Greenacre has a huge potential to outscore Fowler and Smeltz.  I think that we may have the makings of a new Nix Legend

Well he is proven, experienced and successful in a league that Shane (what's his name) didn't succeed in. Isn't that right? Looks a bit better than that Polter guy we were perving at last season, right?AllWhitebelievr2009-04-30 00:29:04

Yip and yip/ maybe. Porter does have quite a lot going for him. Could be quite similar players.
I think he could even arguably out do fowler
