Perth are hanging on by a thread. Tony Sage will spend millions with a guarantee of no profit. If he gives up i doubt anyone will take over, and perth will go down. Unless this season perth make it into the top 4 or at least 5, then theres a good chance next season will be the last. They have already been warned by the ffa, google it. Welly hasnt been warned yet i dont think.

If its on Google it MUST be true.......

I'm wondering why this thread is still going? We clearly can't get rid of Ricki! seems to me he has set the plan in motion, of late the players haven't made it happen, except against Sydney.

Queenslander 3x a year.

I actually think our expectations are far to high.

Reading another thread people are saying how they will be quite happy with 5 or 6 points from the next 3 of games. I can guarantee you though, if we achieve 1 win and 1 draw and 1 loss, this thread will pop back up again. Give Ricki a chance, that old Alex Fergusson bloke didn't do very well in his first few seasons at Old Trafford. I'd hate for Phoenix to become a side that fires managers instantly when they don't win. (Chelsea etc)

As far as coaching goes I'm behind Ricki as he clearly learns and adapts:

He drops crap players, Mulligan, Gao, etc...

He stopped being Mr Nice Guy last match, grew a moustache, gets angry and gives the players a kick up the arse, I would like to see more of this "hairdryer treatment" , that the likes of Sir Red nose and Clough would dish out, (reading The Damned Utd, I know its fiction but you can imagine Clough saying all those things ).

He almost scraps with the other teams manager.

So he has my support.

bit of a weird post put Vickmeist is moaning as she wants to go out for a curry and I have to trim my fu manchu.

EDIT: GODDAMN IT SHE LOGGED ME OUT !!!!!!

EDITED BY Forteantimes actually.

I think I have already said this, but when you buy Adam kawsnik, one of the top goal scorers ever, you expect him to atleast look like scoring. There's a bit of bad luck their really.

Surely your not serious? Kwasnik features highly on the list of top goal scorers at CCM mainly because he has been there for 3 seasons and no one else has. Smeltz already has scored more goals (17 to 14) than him in half the amount of seasons. To be fair to Kwasnik he definitely plays better at attacking mid and I wouldn't classify him as a striker or a top goal scorer for that matter.

Smeltz only has so many goals because we rely on him so deeply. Most have been pks or headers. I'm pretty sure he has only scored one from outside the box, which was a soft touch into the botto mright corner (although still a great goal) This is why Smeltz will fail at any other team.

It's not about the coach.

It's not even about the players.

We just need to play Bling FC every week.

What does that have to do with Kwasnik being a "great" goalscorer?

I never said he was a "great" goal scorer. I said he has scored alot of goals.

I think it would be fair to say if you are "One of the top goal scorers ever" then you might be considered a great goal scorer. Besides all I was trying to say is that Kwasnik is pies and I highly doubt he will never score for the nix.

Adam Kwasnik HAL stats:
http://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/default.aspx?s=aleague_profile&pid=729&tid=227
Shane Smeltz HAL stats:
http://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/default.aspx?s=aleague_profile&pid=1471&tid=227
Summary in terms of goals:
Kwasnik 15 goals (4 penalties)  in 45 starts (70 games overall) from 136 attempts on goal.
Smeltz 16 goals (5 penalties) in 29 games (all starts) from 56 attempts on goal.

Edit: working out how many goals are scored per minute:
Kwasnik a goal every 281min and 36sec, Smeltz 162min and 34sec.

Before Kwasnik joined the 'Nix he was scoring a goal every 245min and 32sec. If he had kept up that at the 'Nix he would have scored 2 goals in the 541min he has played so far this season.

Back to the point, I said Kwas had scored goals, I also said Ricki was a bit unlucky that he no longer scores goals.

Once again, I also said that Smeltz has scored so many because we rely on him so much, he's the only one who wants to score.

So your post prooves nothing, as I wasn't comparing Smeltz to Kwas back in my first post. I never said Smeltz doesn't score goals.

Read that again and try tell me you didn't say Kwasnik was a great goal scorer. All I was saying is that Smeltz would be considered a top goal scorer and he looks much better in comparison to Kwasnik. So, I believe that Kwasnik is not a "top goal scorer ever" and that if Ricki had wanted a goal scorer he should've brought someone else.

To clear this up

I read the post (again)  and he didnt say he was a great goal scorer!  That is your interpretation.

Just one of the top goal scorers (for his club). Which is true.

Smeltz is the top goal scorer for our club.

Kwasnik has been disappointing here so far, also true

"Great" goal scorer implies that he scores goal in the top right corner from half-way every goal.

I also never compared Kwas to Smeltz, I said Kwas is one of the top goal scorers in the a-league (based on numbers) - and Ricki is unlucky that Kwas hasn't scored!

You've missed my point completely and seem to think I said Kwas was the best player who ever lived.

I agree michael, Kwas mainly is a midfielder, but I (and I think most others) expected him to put 1 or 2 away for us.
