Maybe it's me, but I find it amusing that people on here are actually suggesting that Ramon, or ACFC, should be contacted and asked to explain and expand on his coaching qualifications to members of a web forum. Haha.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

1.

When the club said 'The parties were not able to find a mutual agreement on how to proceed forward and because of this have decided to move in separate directions.' Was it:

Coach:'I want to spend money on some good players'

Board;'You're fired'

2.

I always feel let down by how quiet the club management are whenever there are issues.

3.

What would be wrong with Rudan? He would have good connections and understand the league, and I don't get the 'knowledge of NZ players' being so critical because surely the Club have that already? (I live in hope) I would have Rudan over Vidmar and Ramon.

Rudan would be good. The assumption there is that he’ll get the Sydney Job after the World Cup if Graham Arnold ends up taking the Socceroos job.

A few (well rumoured) hypotheticals there, but it’s probably enough for him to sit and wait rather than take the nix job now.

Allegedly

Rudan seems to have that Kalezic-like hard outer shell, but definitely is a more personable person with a soft side (supposedly) and actually knows his A-League football.

I want him over Vidmar/Tribulietx.

Reading some of the matchday threads you'd be forgiven for thinking that there are plenty of people who think they could do a better job at the helm!

Football manager computer game counts, right?

20 years of playing various incarnations of E A Sports Fifa Manager is my resume. Does that count? I even got Stockport County into the premiership for one season some years back!!

That's all well and good -  but did you get your Pro License while playing FM? (Game is endorsed by FIFA, so it counts, right?)

Why does transfermarkt & the OFC say you have it, but NZF & Stuff say you don't (but will), & LinkedIn can't make up its mind?

If not, is it because you failed many times, or just didn't do it? If the latter, why not, if you are serious about coaching the Nix?

How many imports did you have at Stockport? Was it the same, or fewer, than the  A-League allows?

Finally, how does 20 years with Stockport help you sign a squad filled with Messi-like Kiwis & Aussies that have somehow been passed over by multiple coaches in the past?

Buggered if I know to be honest. As HN suggested, Gonna be interesting whom Greenacre picks. I hope he has a plan B to go with plan A. I had such high hopes in Darije with that first ever 30 mins in charge but then...............................

Apply the same question to Rudan as we have to Ramon, what is his experience coaching in a professional environment? Surely he lacks this as he has only been involved in Sydney untied and the Oz-under 20 side. Can we risk employing a coach who doesnt understand the rigor of professional coaching? setting up youth systems, strength and condition programmes etc.

(PS: yes, there is some tongue in cheek in this question, but we should think about it nonetheless)

I think there are certainly parallels between the two.

Vidmar has experience that those two don't, should have connections with decent Australia players, and has been an assistant under Ange. Not sure what his overseas connections are like for foreign players. May not have done well for some youth sides, but no coach really has in a while.

The difference is that the FFA will let a 'strayan run an A-League side without quals.  Their rules won't let anyone else do so.

Rudan may be a moot point by the time the week is over as they announce Arnie as Socceroos coach.

As I keep saying, the Nix have never lost an A-League game in Auckland, which is why we should play at least half the season at QBE

I'm surprised so many people found my suggestion amusing. If I were Ramon, and there was widespread speculation about my coaching qualification ranging from 'top class' to 'rubbish', I'd be more than happy to set the record straight. I assumed there'd be someone on this forum who knew the man well enough to pose the question. Obviously not. Ah, well, back to mindless speculation. Probably a lot more fun this way ... lol

I agree, that is assuming of course he reads the speculation and wants to clear it up. The club could help a bit too if the wanted.

Obviously the management is not going to tell us who the applicants are but it would be nice to get a little bit of clarity and background of each applicant would ease the stress and concern we are all feeling about the state of the club at the moment.

I've spoken to Ramon more than once. But asking him to "explain" his coaching quals somehow makes me think of mates of the groom wanting me to ask the bride how many lovers she's had.

Greenacre confirmed as taking over the first team.

Quote from that:

"Youth Programme head coach Chris Greenacre will take charge of training and head coach duties."

I thought he'd been appointed till the end of the season. Not sure where I read that. Does sound like he'll just do those duties till they can get the new guy in place. If it's Vid, that should be possible in the next week or so.

I'm surprised you're surprised. :-)

Suggesting that someone be approached and asked to explain something which has nothing to do with you isn't amusing? The idea that suggesting that someone should explain themselves just to satisfy the curiosity of a section of the public, about things which are not their business, because "they should be happy to set the record straight"? I'm sure there are other adjectives which I could've used.

I'm sure the people who need to know what his qualifications are, or aren't, will know or will find out if they have to. I don't count people posting on websites as amongst those who need to know this information. I'd also be fairly surprised if Ramon gave a shark about speculation on websites. I'm sure if he feels the need to share his qualifications publicly to appease the curiosity of internet users then he'll do so.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

So looking forward to seeing how Greenie shapes them up

As someone said earlier, from the looks of what the Club sent out it looks like Greenie might not have the reins for too long. As long as the players come out this weekend and look like they have a vague idea what they're supposed to be doing, I'll be happy

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
