This week, we would like to invite all of you to a significant day in the club's history - on Thursday 10 August, 7am sharp, we will be holding a very special dawn ceremony and unveiling, free to all our fans.

This will be followed by the first Huawei Business club breakfast of the year, with a handful of tickets still available to chat with players and hear our new coaching staff outline their vision for the club and the campaign ahead.

Speculation about what could be unveiled please. New kit and import striker?

Folding the club at the end of the license? FTA tv deal? New Russian oligarch owner? New stadium? New training facilities? New headquarters to be named after a fan fave player - the Ifill Tower? New English language school with the Nix brand? New sleeve sponsor? New chairman of the board? Entering a team in the Aussie women's league? AFC announcing we can now qualify for the ACL? Feeder club deal with Barcelona? Public screening of the infamous Nixie sex tape? Every single one of our players to be released for personal reasons?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

There must be some significant to local iwi being there. My best bet is new shirt, and the iwi group joining WelNix

Has there been an instance (asides from gimmicky 'one-off' rounds) where culture has been more ingrained on A-League jerseys? Could we see a more cultural tinge to this year's jersey like rugby jerseys of the past?

I'd be all for this - would piss off more anti-Nix fans than usual!

Oh for FFS dont tell me we have somehow become part of   some obscure claim by local  Iwi to be part of a Waitangi settlement. Bloody OOE and his skirt he wears has obviously given them ideas. Frightening thought that zone will feature not only bare chested old buggars but many wearing friggen grass skirts.

What is so offensive to you about cultures which differ from your own?

I doubt many claims to the Waitangi commission are that obscure, it's pretty well documented that offenses happened after the treaty was signed.

This, however, will not be about a claim, they're simply embracing local culture that is uniquely from NZ.

I hope that the Phoenix do more Maori, to be honest we make a piss poor attempt at bilingualism. Fewer people speak Scots and Gaelic than Maori yet those languages are dual language on street signs and in menus in the regions where they're spoken, the same with the regional languages in the former Soviet Union.

I speak a little Irish AND a little Māori and would really appreciate the Nix getting a formal name in Te Reo. Just another thing to annoy the Aussies. (At least AFL has the "indigenous round".)

Since there is a business breakfast afterwards, my feeling is it will probably be off field focused rather than player focused. Maybe some investment from Chinese backers or a like? Something for the local business community to mingle and talk business opportunities afterwards.

Hopefully the dawn ceremony surprise is the club announcing it will forcibly castrate racist fans

I wonder if the players will have to report early for training after attending the "dawn ceremony"?? Too early for a player announcement, Perhaps a new kit ? The club missed an opportunity here too. They could have invited TV3 along to do their breakfast 9 out of 10 competition at it. The winner wins $10k worth of Phoenix gear and memberships??

As this is getting some good publicity I really hope it is leading up to something spectacularly great - 20 year licence!!

FFS some of you really are pretty bloody pathetic.Just be thankful some of you wernt here in the early days your pretty little sensitive hearts would not have been able to take it. This sanitised forum is still to much for some of you.Really disapointed that you Patrick even felt the need to respond to such a comment.

The funny thing is that people who stand up for human decency are not the sensitive ones, it's those who feel the need to belittle others because of their own insecurities who are overly sensitive.

Racism, casual or not, won't be tolerated on the forums.

I messaged you Ballane about your comments because you were being racist. If you choose to ignore what I said and continue posting racist comments, you'll get a ban, just like anyone else would.

The old "it used to be okay" argument is just as bad as someone on the football pitch saying "the ref let us get away with wearing the wrong colour socks last week though!" or similar. You may have got away with it previously, but today it is not acceptable and I am telling you so.

100% agree. Just wanted an example that football people here could relate to and that's the first that sprung to mind.

"It used to be OK"

Humor has it's place but I agree it is a fine line, as an old fulla brought up in Cannons Creek, the lines get blurred.

I am as guilty as other sometimes.

I don't think they're the pathetic ones, ballane. Admit that you probably overstepped the mark and get over it.
