Announcement very soon (within the next few days). I believe he is in Wellington now.

This was confirmed by me a day or two ago remember? :P

It is 100% not him.

Oooooooooh you so know who it is don't you!

I'm surprised it's been such a well-kept secret too - so why not spoil it and tell us? GO ON
I don't know who it is but I spoke to someone who saw him with the Nix big wigs. The person I spoke to couldn't ID him but told me it was not E.M. That's about all I've got

So it could be pretty much anybody then? With no indication it was anything to do with football or managers?
Or even if we assume it was football related it could simply be an agent?

Although this is a good hint it doesn't mean it 100% isn't Merrick (or anyone else).

Whoever it is might pull out before signing, after all it was "supposed" to be announced this week. It could be an agent. It could have nothing to do with the coaching position at all.

This reminds me of the Kiwi news reporters always saying in crime reports that the perp was of "European appearance". Shit, what did he look like? Like an Albanian? A Spaniard? A Swede?
If it was anywhere else they would say he was of Caucasian appearance as opposed to an Asian or Black African.
Oh well, I guess this rules out Frank Rijkard.... he's not European-looking enough for them to call him that.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Yeah pretty vague I know. He was giving the impression he was a well dressed, slick looking european, and that you would assume from first look he is not from here.

It could have been Ernie Merrick in disguise. Don't discount the Undercover Boss reveal option.

I think the club have played this well. Look at you all clambering like vagrants with a bowl looking for gruel. By keeping mum, they have got people talking.

It will be announced in due course and I can wait another month easy, because you know when it's announced you'll have Steve-O and JD wanting him sacked (where are you Steve-O? Oh it's a good news story......), Doloras saying she was proven right, J82 and Kiwi Hatter with a humourous crack, News with a 2-3 worder, Patrick analysing it, 5/6 posters will proclaim that Siggy is still heart and soul of the club despite being sent off for being a headcase, 4/5 will demand Lochhead/Leo/Paston should still be sacked despite Paston retiring, 1/99 will remember that when we had Tim Brown, our midfield was infinitely better, 85% of posters will hate Marco less because he is now in Germany, Trip Vincent will still talk bollocks, 60% of posters will still talk about signing another striker despite having Ifill, Stein, Totori, Fenton, Brockie, Boyd, Carlos on the books, Jacob Burns, Terry McFlynn, Joel Griffiths will still be cunts, Ricki should be sacked, ASB Premiership has talent galore that could easily fix the Phoenix, ACFC would beat the Phoenix 12-1 but the Phoenix are too scared to play the game and its an utter disgrace that Clapham/Krishna/insert another players name has been hard done by and not given a shot.

Lastly, nufc telling everyone that he knew all along - that shit, I can do without.

(Apologies to others I have missed, I do know your names and read your posts and it probably means you spoke well about football but just didn't have any standout quirks)

LOL....fairly well sums up this forum. You can be away for a couple of weeks and come back and the same shiite is being spouted by the same people. Thats what we are..... shiiters. No better or worse than most other forums. Such is life on the interweb!!!!!
Someone with some literary talent could probably write a pre reaction for each poster about their opinions to whoever the new coach is. You can just about guess peoples reaction before the new guy has even got his feet under the desk!
