It will be announced in due course and I can wait another month easy, because you know when it's announced you'll have Steve-O and JD wanting him sacked (where are you Steve-O? Oh it's a good news story......), Doloras saying she was proven right, J82 and Kiwi Hatter with a humourous crack, News with a 2-3 worder, Patrick analysing it, 5/6 posters will proclaim that Siggy is still heart and soul of the club despite being sent off for being a headcase, 4/5 will demand Lochhead/Leo/Paston should still be sacked despite Paston retiring, 1/99 will remember that when we had Tim Brown, our midfield was infinitely better, 85% of posters will hate Marco less because he is now in Germany, Trip Vincent will still talk bollocks, 60% of posters will still talk about signing another striker despite having Ifill, Stein, Totori, Fenton, Brockie, Boyd, Carlos on the books, Jacob Burns, Terry McFlynn, Joel Griffiths will still be cunts, Ricki should be sacked, ASB Premiership has talent galore that could easily fix the Phoenix, ACFC would beat the Phoenix 12-1 but the Phoenix are too scared to play the game and its an utter disgrace that Clapham/Krishna/insert another players name has been hard done by and not given a shot.

Lastly, nufc telling everyone that he knew all along - that shit, I can do without.

(Apologies to others I have missed, I do know your names and read your posts and it probably means you spoke well about football but just didn't have any standout quirks)

LOL....fairly well sums up this forum. You can be away for a couple of weeks and come back and the same shiite is being spouted by the same people. Thats what we are..... shiiters. No better or worse than most other forums. Such is life on the interweb!!!!!
Someone with some literary talent could probably write a pre reaction for each poster about their opinions to whoever the new coach is. You can just about guess peoples reaction before the new guy has even got his feet under the desk!

Whoever they pick he will be sitting on the bench, when not standing up yelling at the ref.

A dog with a bone :)

just missing a piece on jv, come on anyone? preferably someone already maligned so we can get a bit of vitriol

Has a way too high opinion of himself. Probably in a low paying job where he has no power and hates his wife (if he's married)

I think I captured it.

Although I don't see anything humourous about my crack (Hatter on the other hand...)

Very very good Jeff.

I think you (TV) and JV should have a pillow fight.

I would pay money to watch that over the internet (has to be HD).

I don't think it would be appropriate for their wives tbh (although I shouldn't pre-judge people).

Okay, I think JV would easily take tripvincent in a fight, so I expect JV to throw the fight to prove me wrong. And then get fired from Citystop for fighting and for swearing about his horrible wife.

Oh bugger... I thought this was the new coaching options thread - not the little kids throwing stones at each other thread.

My bad.

Again.

Well I think you'll find JV is generally quite nasty to most on here first and while some will take it, i won't, He should be banned quite frankly

I'm happy to talk new coaching options. What I don't need is JV saying I talk bollocks in a ridiculously unfunny post. If he feels that way about the forum and its peeps he should take a hike.

Perhaps we need a thread to discuss new moderating options.

Anyway, back on target. Perhaps what has happened is that they were all ready to sign a contract on Thursday/Friday until the new coach got down to Newtown Park and went "OH JESUS CHRIST NO". Or possibly "Oh, Jezus Christus, nee!" or "¡Ay, dios mio, no es bueno!"

According to a report on the stuff.co.nz website...Ernie Merrick, Ante Milicic & Paul Okon have been linked to the job. I haven't heard the last two names linked to job in any other reports so not sure where this source is coming from? Anyway if the Ante Milicic link is real, he's worth a punt...did a good job as asst at The Heart, should of got the managers job...would of done a better job than Aloisi. He's done a great job at The Wanderers. He is very respect here in Oz. Might be his time to take the reigns somewhere?

Think you only have to example the last 2 letters of each surname to work that out.

I think Okon is too busy with his national duties now, even if he was interested in the 'Nix. As for Milicic, yes he'd be a great asset, but I think he and Poppa have some unfinished business with the WSW next season (i.e. to win the toilet seat from the Mariners), so I do not think he is ready to jump across the Tasman. Heart might lure him back before the 'Nix has even a look in.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

The club have done well not to let anything really sneak out in regards to who the final front runners were and supposedly who our coach will be for next year.

Here's to a much better season ahead starting from tomorrow.

I'm hearing Coppell. Apparently Brian Eastick, former England under-20 coach, didn't even get an interview, I find that strange - wouldn't he be a near ideal candidate?

So Michael Burgess doesn't know what he's talking about?

Anyone but Merrick and I'll be happy and confident.

Don't even know who he is I'm afraid. My statement is rumour-based only, unlike many on these forums I'm happy to admit I could very easily be wrong. The Eastick comment is legitimate though, for that I do have a source.

Think that is the issue, they haven't exactly done well. Last in their group in the 2009 u20 World Cup. They made it out of the group stages in 2011 with three 0-0 draws.
